I've noticed this very often. My first starting hand has 5 cards, each worth one point. I play all 5 and get 6 total points? No patrons are in use, etc.

What is going on?

    When you play second, you get one extra gold for that turn :)

    For all the time stuck in the unskippable tutorial, the critical information just doesn't come through.
