Please remove Patron win warning message

Please remove the on-screen message that warns your opponent that you are close to have a Patron win.

People should be paying atention to that without being told about it.

It's hard enough already to win that way, so not fair that your opponent receives a message telling them what you are doing.

There are even situations where RNG puts your opponent far ahead and Patron win becomes your only chance and so, again, it's not fair that they are warned.

    I agree 100%.

Patron wins aren't easy to pull off as it is. It is not fair that the game warns your opponent of your strategy that way.

    Please remove this.

I believe this warning does not exist when you play against a human player, only against npc. At least I never get this warning when my human opponent is about to win by patrons.

Against npc it does not matter. It is only you who get the warning.

I see the OP's point, but I can understand why the message is there. People need to be trained to look for a potential patron victory and it rarely happens against NPCs (in my experience). I think I've had about 4-5 matches throughout the entire storyline and thereafter where an NPC actually went for a patron victory.

So I would suggest a middle ground here: Allow for an option to turn it off, but leave it on by default. Or perhaps disable it while you're in Rubidite rank. If you're not alert for them at that level, you're doing something wrong anyway.

I have never seen this message. maybe it only appears in the lower levels? I beat a lot of opponents with Patron victories and I have lost a few. Depending on the deckschosen its not that hard to do. But I have never seen the warning...

I've seen it a few times. As far as I understand it the warning only comes up when your opponent is one patron away from winning, so it won't warn against the possibility for an opponent to win by using patrons twice the same turn which is how I've gotten or lost most patron wins.

But yes, I agree that the warning should be removed.

I see the message all the time and I'm max rank and play Ranked Competitive too.

You guys are definitely not paying attention to the message, because the message is definitely being shown.

People don't need to be trained that way. That's not training, that's warning.

The mechanics are in every single guide, even the ultra basic video guide that ZOS made clearly mentions the two ways of winning/losing the match: 40 prestige or 4 Patrons.

I don't think there is a single player playing that doesn't know about that, so no need to warn them.
In any case, the player will learn by losing (for not paying attention) and so will be more careful the next time.

But no need to warn about that mechanic because it goes against the player that is trying to use it as a valid way to win the game, mostly, as I said in my first above, in situatuations where Patron win is your only chance.

The message comes up when you have three patrons turned and then end your turn.

Likely, the reason most here are saying they don't see the message is because opponents are beating them with a Patron win using Tithe or Currency exchange while having only 2 Patrons turned. 2 Patrons turned at the end of a turn do not give the warning, but with those two cards, you can achieve a Patron victory before the warning message can be displayed to an opponent.

Well, if they don't get rid of the Patron wIn warning, can they add a Prestige wIn warning when the other player reaches 38 prestige, just in case someone isn't paying attention?

The message appears only until they have played their first card, so many who are clicking their first card waiting for you to finish will just not see it. It's happened to me a few times! I take patron losses as a sign I need to call it a night, because I'm not thinking straight :)

But either way, if your patron win depends on your opponent not to be paying attention, and you to only play a single patron that turn... that's not really a strategy, it's just wishful thinking, or exploitation of newbies.

If you're aiming for a patron win, you usually need to be hitting at least the last two patrons in the same turn. So, you need to have invested in at least one Currency Exchange and have enough other Hlaalu to make a combo with it, or else need to have grabbed a "Tithe" or "King Orgnum's Command" card. A decent player will have spotted you picking up the Currency Exchange, too, so if they let you get within two patrons of the win, that's a gamble they chose to make.

The word "Distraction" exists in this world for a reason. You don't need to be a newbie to get distracted.
So, if you are not paying enough attention and/or get distracted, it's not fair that the game warns you about it.

And as I already mentioned, sometimes you are far behind in prestige because of bad RNG, and Patron win is your only possible salvation. So, I had bad RNG, they had good RNG and you are still warning them about my only chance to win? Come on!

I agree, they should remove that warning as it kind of removes the opportunity for a sneaky patron win. If you don't pay attention, being punished for it is fair game I'd say!
