The focus would be on churning the tavern and the contracts would have big combos, perhaps up to 4 or more cards.

I would love to see a patron with a power that forces your opponent to discard one card, maybe just to the cooldown pile, maybe remove it from play for the rest of the game. It would likely need a hefty price with it, whether gold or power or even prestige, to prevent your opponent from having no cards to use at all.
I would like to see a deck based upon having a varied selection of different decks in the hand - so the combo would be with different decks not the same deck - three different decks give a three combo for example.
This would change the dynamic away from the current "happy families" approach
I'd like to see an Uncle Sheo themed deck.
Maybe pay 5 power or 10 gold to draw an extra hand up until you have his favor then no more uses (like duke). If you are unfavored you could potentially play 3 hands.
