Players suggestions for improving the combat system

AdricEdwistyr
I guess a lot of players feel frustrated because of ESO's combat system, rither in its current or incoming form.
In order to be constructive (in case the devs care about what players think) I suggest that we make proposals to improve things (in PvE at least).
Here's mine :
1) Decrease the CGD from 1 sec to 0.5 sec.
2) Apply the same GCD to all in-game actions.
3) Allow the player to view the GCD by an animation (a pie or something else).
4) Display a warning message (that can be disabled) when the player repeatedly performs actions faster than the GCD.
5) Increase the duration of some DoTs so that they become less difficult to maintain but nevertheless keep other DoTs with a duration of 10 sec and that produce a reasonable amount of additional damage (or heal).

I think they are unable to seperate light attacks from skill cooldowns. If they could do so, they might have done so long ago. And if they ever do so, I honestly believe we will for sure not see a GCD reduction to 0,5 seconds due to the possible amount of inputs / seconds this might create depending on the combat situation.

Example: You bar switch, use ult into dodgeroll, barswitch again, skill into dodgeroll. thats button presses / second.
Button for barswitch, 2 buttons for ult, 2 buttons for dodgeroll - thats for 1 0,5 window - now its 1 button for barswitch again, one for a skill, another two for a dodgeroll. You might reduce those presses for keyboard so you might end up with "only" 6 key presses per second. But still, pretty much.

The good though should be better animation blending that should make for less ugly combat and might be welcomed by a lot of players, myself included. However, it will mean our dps will explode. We can use way more skills in the same timeframe we once have, especially in regards to burst, this would have huge impact on a lot of scenarios. I would assume almost a doubling of damage for execute phases for example.

If each action is locked into a 0.5 or 0.6 sec cooldown (except maybe dodgeroll), I don't see how we can achieve pressing 6 keys per second.
You press a key and have to wait for .5 to press another or it doesn't fire.

I suspect, given the 2 second ticks incoming, that increasing the gcd would probably be more in their radar than any reduction of it.

More 2 seconds with auto-light attacks.....

I never said that. Nope. Someone else did....and ran away.

This would hurt builds and playstyles that rely on rapidly firing attacks like Bows building up Hawk Eye which only lasts 5 seconds. It can be a delicate thing to maintain with a Snipe at full 5 stacks then you light attack again to keep it active while the missile is in flight. Snipe takes 1 second to cast, but you also need to retain the buff while the missile is traveling or it can lose power before it hits the target. The same goes if you use the Bow ultimate, need to keep it active before using it and if its Toxic Barrage morph then you have a very small window to keep Hawk Eye up or it resets.

Other such abilities include Bound Armaments and Grim Focus. Then there are some sets that require rapid fire for short buffs like double tapping for Molag Kena has a small window when the second attack will count for the buff.
