The recent patch notes introduced some drastic changes to all the class spammables. Some of them that did not need changes got greatly buffed (surprise attack), and some got greatly nerfed (crystal weapon and bound armaments). This is a result of people abusing sets that synchronize so well with a certain build, leading to the nerf of an entire class, instead of the problematic sets. Meanwhile, skills such as vigor, that also did not need an adjustment, got a huge buff (it now grants major resolve). When Weapon and Guild abilities overshadow class abilities in terms of utility and power, we start to lose class identity. This is the exact opposite of what we and the developers wanted. Some classes (warden) have utterly garbage spammables, that they have to rely on either DSwing, Force Pulse, or Arterial Burst in PvP. Some class ultimates are overshadowed by Dawnbreaker, Comet, and Elemental Storm. Weapon and Guild abilities simply deals so much more damage when compared to class abilities in some classes. I would like to see a rework to not nerf Weapon and Guild abilities, but to buff class abilities to be able to compete with them, retaining class identity. Skill diversity is so meek because everyone seems to be running the same skills. The only way to tell classes apart from a distance is by their armor buffs, and now it's going to be taken away by Resolving Vigor. Even the Restoration heals overshadow class heals in some cases. I would like to run more than just my class buffs on my skill bar one day. Skills like Magelight are better than Lotus Blossom on Warden. It grants Major Prohecy/Savagery passively and increases magicka while slotted, while LB has to be cast. Templars, Wardens, and Sorcs have shifted to Dawnbreaker. The only two classes that use their class ultimates are Nightblade and Necromancer. The rest of us don't have good AoE ultimates, aside from Nova. Dawnbreaker is just a better choice because of its low cost and AoE stun. Radial Sweep doesn't stun. Atronach is too expensive. Warden doesn't even have an AoE burst ultimate, let alone an ultimate that stuns. Hopefully this all changes soon.
