Turn time limit needs fixing

90 seconds is NOT ENOUGH TIME at the end of a game when you are drawing and playing many cards in a turn (and then the effing animations which eat up two seconds or so every effing time THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN FREAKING DO ANYTHING WHILE THE ANIMATION IS RUNNING even if you know exactly what you are going to do next!)

Maybe it could be done like this: turn is 60 seconds to start with, when you play a card from your hand or buy a card from the tavern it adds 5 seconds. That way you still can't just sit there and think about what you want to do (and also if a player goes afk it times out even faster) but if you're in the middle of a big turn you don't get cut off in the middle.

theres a bunch of problems i see with this, if you are doing a crow combo you are not always getting a lot of cards from the tavern, you could just be drawing 20 cards from your draw pile, which under your system wont add extra time, and thus give you even less time to play your combo

extending the base time has its own issues with people who are afk/trolling (although they could add some kind of check which is after like 2/3 turns where the opponent makes no actions (plays no cards AND times out their turn) they just auto-lose)

I kind of agree. I have had a few turns completely time out, while I was actively drawing new cards, acquiring new coin, and buying new cards. Didn't even get a chance to spend the remaining coin as I was still shuffling and drawing against my deck. It's rare, but it certainly is a bit of a problem, because I cannot control animation waits, and I shouldn't be penalized for having a successful turn of combos.

Time limit is, unfortunately too high now.
What i experience is the on the average 1 of 10 players intentionally delay pressing "End Move" button spending like 88..89 seconds each move, including no-brainers first moves. I guess some players have fun not by winning, but by annoying others.
Good idea is a chess "time control" like 30 seconds for moves 1-5, 60 seconds for 6-10, and 90 for further moves.
Otherwise game might last way way too looooooong

I thought the solution the OP proposed seems fine though.

You get 60 seconds if you just sit there and do nothing. You get time added when you do something active, like playing/activating cards and patrons. Maybe not 5 seconds, but like 2-3 seems reasonable.

If you sit there and do nothing for 40 seconds, and then play a card, you now have 23 seconds. If you do nothing for 55 seconds and then play a card you have 8 seconds.

If you spend every other second of you 60 seconds playing a card, you get time added to keep making moves. Players who would actually use this time are not the ones who would spend 5 minutes figuring out strategy.

Nah timer is too long already. People time bank all their time every move thinking it's a strategy lol... It's not... Give people more time and a good amount of the community will just waste all that time as well... Thinking they are smart and doing a "strategy". Let's be real... Even when stacked you can do your move in less than 30 seconds... Anything more is just wasting your own time and other people's time...

Yeah, ToT matches already last long enough that I have lost my patience to even level through the ranks for the achievement rewards.... maybe would help if I actually enjoyed the game, but that is sadly not the case at all hahahahaaaa

Not when you're drawing and flipping through twenty cards a turn with the crow and psijic decks. And the animations take time (during which it does not allow you to do anything even if you know exactly what you are going to do) so every time you draw a card or move a card from you deck to your cooldown pile or vice versa it is basically penalizing you on time.

Maybe an additional 2 seconds for each card drawn/played instead of 5; just something to make up for the fact that it takes some small amount of time just to click on a card, etc.

The base turn timer needs to be way lower, 30 seconds even for the first few turns. +15 seconds every time a shuffle is triggered since that takes a million years to finish animating.

Turn time could be changed to be dynamic. X seconds guaranteed and add so many seconds every time a card is played. This would allow a shorter guaranteed time and still permit additional time for legitimate playing.

First turns of the game generally takes mere seconds to play and with the game goes on turns become more and more longer. So i believe giving players more time for each passing turn would be nice.

I think that the biggest problem, is that the end of time alert is useless. The clock starts ticking too late. It should start ticking much earlier, so we can have time to rush the last play. The way it is now, when it starts ticking, you're doomed. Once again, another thing way worse than in ESL.

I would like to see it done like chess where you have a total match time limit. The faster you are in the early rounds the more time you have saved up in the later rounds and vice versa. It's up to you to manage you time.

Though I could see this abused by trolls forcing you to wait the entire 15 mins right off the bat. This is why we can't have nice things

I think making the timer more flexible based on the number of cards played and the turn of the game would make sense. We don’t need a full minute for our 2-5 first turns but I did run into problems while playing crow and comboing lots of cards.

As a crow player there are definitely some late hands that are next to impossible to get off under the current time limit. I agree that for the majority of turns 90 is more than enough but maybe adding a couple seconds when someone picks up a draw, toss or contract isn’t such a bad thing.

Well, the problem could be solved by making the "end of turn timer" begin at a time (day 20 seconds) from the last time you made a move (not just considered or riddled cards) because 90 seconds is all dang day in the beginning, and no time at all in end game.

In my opinion, if you are using the crow and is running out of time end game, it would seem you may have overloaded yourself on crow cards. It would be something for you to review and limit the amount of crow cards to obtain. Potentially combo with Red Eagle to avoid bloated decks.

Honestly, when I get to that point, I’m generating so much gold and power from all my crow cards that not playing all the cards I can doesn’t prevent my win.

I actually see no real issue with the turn time. Even psychic / crow combos, when not build up in a way where you only collect cards without thinking, are smooth to play and easily executable in the allotted timeframe. I can imagine though that when players collect all cards they can and get lucky draw after draw-streak and need to think about what to do or even read some card text .. yea, that is going to take a long time.

However, in the end, this is good exactly the way it is. Running out of time is a mistake made by the player. This restraint simply forces you to adapt your strategy to the most efficient one anyway, so as said, I can't see any issue with it.

I should get to [snip] PLAY my damn cards, not have every [snip] draw or played card take 1-2 seconds off my turn clock without being able to do anything during the animation. I'm not dithering away my turn thinking what I'm trying to do, I'm playing the [snip] cards as I draw them.
