Just to clarify here, Zeal of Zenithar is the next event. That is currently not going to rotate. However, we will pass feedback for future consideration on ordering of events.

Any update on the weekend PVP events we were promised this year, in replacement of the PVP content we were told would not come?

Said pvp event will likely start on December 31st and thus fulfill the requirement of "arrive this year".

Good gods please no. I have like 70+ writs saved for this event and having to wait another event cycle will make me lose my entire mind and remaining sanity.

I've been saving writs and so has a good chunk of my guild.

Let Zeal come as it's supposed to so I can get rid of these things.
I have characters that have classes.

I'm not sure what their names are.

Not intending to bash or what not. But a June event is June. I'd consider an event that goes on 1 day of the month and 12 days of the other a July event.
I'm happy we finally have news on when it's starting, but it's just upsetting we're only just getting it this late, especially that the event has rewards based on playing with players in your guilds, so it takes time to coordinate groups for such events.

But thank you for a date. It is appriciated.

They were very clearly waiting until they were certain the Console update launched smoothly before announcing the start date. And, as they normally announce on Thursdays, this was the first day they could possibly announce the event, after the Console patch release on Tuesday, in keeping with their normal cadence of announcing events.

I can't understand why this event wasn't hosted on May 26, right before the chapter launch. The 2 week gap between PC and console release was obviously going to make pretty much the whole month of June off-limits for any event.

Ofc they were waiting for the updates to console I understand and appriciate that. However a bit of communication would go a long way for a lot of us players. A simple date isn't hard for them to offer us, in the past we've had 2 months notice for a few events, we've had a few were they've been a weeks notice, but like I said a date isn't hard to communicate to us when they're telling us a June event - just seems bad marketing. Just my 2 cents, I'm not claiming to be a developer of games, being in the know or a marketer etc. Just wish we could actually have dates ahead of time for us full timer workers. 🤷‍♀️

Well because the event didn't exist on May 26th. The art assets, event quests, Indrick Vendor System, the Companion Guild Commendation system, or the Event Celebration Ground in Belkarth were not in the game files at that time.

Additionally, the event had not been tested on the PTS before the High Isle PTS.

The event requires the assets included with the High Isle patch to work. They can't just launch events without the assets in the game.

This event was introduced with Update 34 and requires that update in order to exist.

This event is launching as soon as they could physically launch it, it didn't exist on consoles until 3 days ago.

That's just poor planning. All of these things were planned several months ago and could be implemented through a smaller incremental patch. That's the industry standard.

ZOS does 4 releases a year and they keep strictly to that, for very good reason. Their entire studio works around those 4 releases.
They would have had to start a new round of PTS just for one event. Which means they would have had to test a new content patch, and be ready to fix issues that came up with that patch whilst also working on shipping the High Isle patch in less than a month. They would have had to have live producers and people who's entire job is deployment to add an additional release ot their already breakneck release schedule, it is completely infeasable to change an entire game developments studio release schedule to get an in- game event out a month earlier.

For the most part, events are always 1 week notice. We always have a general idea of when they will be, but they pretty much always officially announce the data a week in advance.

And again, with waiting for the console launch, announcing a date before they were sure that they'd be able to meet that date, and then something going wrong forces them to push the date, this community would lose their minds. It happens every time they have to push something, or extend maintenance. Everyone loses it. Much better to not commit to a date until you are sure you can hit that target, than back track on the date.

Besides, for most people, June 30th was the most logical date for the event start based on their history with events, especially post chapter launch events. Nothing all that surprising here, and 1 week is more than enough time in advance for a multiweek event.
