Leaderboard bug is it real or just a visual bug?

So I'm playing 4 games today I was 1522 score (rank 122 on leaderboard) I won 3 games and lost 1. I check my updated position and I'm suddenly having only 677 score and now rank 849. What the hell is going on? Anyone else noticing this issue, I shouldn't lose 700 ranks and over 600 score points on 1 defeat. This is very worrying.

Sure you can, I've lost over 1k points with a single loss.

The points awarded or deducted per match is variable and probably depends on your rank compared to your opponents rank and may increase or decrease based on your placement on the leaderboard.

I won a match yesterday for 5 whole points. I wasn't even high on the leaderboard either, ranked 500ish. I have to assume my opponent (who wasn't exactly a pushover) was ranked about 10,000 for the points increase to be so low, but that's just speculation.

What a dumb system if that's the case. Doesn't make me want to climb leaderboard knowing I could go from the near top to beyond bottom in 1 defeat. You shouldn't lose more than 100 points. Actually bad.
