Menus not working

I logged in shortly after the NA server came back up and loaded one of my characters. He was able to do a riding update, but ESC and Alt menus did not work. Key commands for inventory, journal, and character menus also don't open the menus.

Inventory insights was causing this issue for me; disabling it fixed it. If not that, some other add on. Look at the path of the error message and it should tell you the folder of the add on causing it.

This is an addon issue - disable inventory insight and auto category and wait for them to be updated.

It's a good rule of thumb that when something isn't working after a major update/patch/new content, disable addons and see if it works ok without addons loaded.

Addons are updated as and when the authors get around to doing it, they don't get paid and do it as a hobby (for which we are extremely grateful!!) and not every addon is going to be absolutely bang up to date the minute new content drops. You can largely troubleshoot this yourself by disabling addons and then enabling them a few at a time to work out which is causing the issue, and then disable that one temporarily until it is updated. And in the first week or so after a major update, keep checking Minion for addon updates.

If you use addons, this is something you need to get used to dealing with each time there is a major patch/update.

This is one of the bonuses (among many) of having to work today. Just got in game and first thing I always do is inventory management then writs. Inventory wasn't working and I was thinking I would have to disable some add-ons to find the culprit. Came here first and someone already figured it out for me!

and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

looking at addons from character select - everything showed good.
looking in game - where I got an immediate grid list error, showed Votans fishing stuff had dependencies issues
I checked all the addons, votans and the associated libraries. Everything is where is it supposed to be.

I just had to disable 3 addons before the menus and keybinds worked:
    - Advanced Filter
    - Inventory Insight
    - Greymind Quick Slot Bar

I couldn't even bring up my weapon, use skills, or anything, until I disabled all 3 of them, and getting to the Settings | Addons menu to do that was difficult. Hopefully, these addons will be updated soon.

I wasn't using the 1st 2 addons a lot, but I'm going to miss the quick slot bar, I always found it very useful.

Yep but when there is a major update to the game, many addons need to be amended or re-written in some way by their authors. It doesn't matter whether they are installed right or not, there are addons that would have worked on Sunday just fine that now will not work until they are updated by the addon author. You just have to disable those and be patient while the authors work on updating them.

(And yes you need to log in on a character to check whether any addon dependencies are missing, you can't see that from the addons page in character select screen)

Agreed. I use Minion to manage my addons, and whenever I run it (something I do at least weekly), it lets me know when addons have updates.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, this is likely an add-on issue. We have two help articles linked below that go over how to uninstall or remove add-ons that you're currently using.
