Will we see more patrons/cards in the future?
I went into Tales of Tributes sceptical and disillusioned. We all know that most people were disappointed when it was shown as the main chapter feature however I went in with an open mind and have found I'm really enjoying the card game to my delight and surprise. I learnt it quite fast just from trial and error like the tutorial even said. Whilst I know I'm heavily enjoying the game I know that still the general consensus from pretty much everyone I've talked to is that if you like the card game you're in the minority.
My main question is: Will we see more patrons and by extension of this cards too? As they said they won't sell cards/patrons or decks ever? I'm assuming that if more content is added to Tales of Tribute that it will be added in free updates that come along with DLC? So perhaps if the card game gets updates/rebalances or new additions/expansions: new strategies could be developed or more playstyles that suit people better giving you more freedom and creativity in your decks. I think if done correctly more content will give this card game a longer life span.
The only gripe I have found with Tales of Tributes though is an aesthetic one. The art work on the cards feels more like a draft than actual art. Comparing it to card games like Legends or Hearthstone where the cards had a more upscale and higher artform rather than what appears to be a rough coloured sketch/draft. Which to me seems less flashy and more depressing. If the cards had art similar to the home furnishing paintings with the detail and flair they get I'd find them much more visually pleasing or even some animation for special cards it would give it more of a wow factor. I digress though. I would really like to see this card game become more than it is and be expanded upon rather than a one time gimmick dlc that many have thought it to be. So I hope that despite the reception it gets more love and content.
