For the most part, I understand the game play (totally hooked.. love, love, love it) except sometimes, I'll be playing and the game will end prior to when I feel it should have. For example.... This morning I was playing with an NPC. I was gathering a very nice deck. I had 27 points, they had 12. They had just finished their turn and had 1 power - and then I get the pop up saying I've been defeated. Why? How? I think I need the 'defeated' screen to have a run down on stats of how I was defeated, like when you're killed. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

Notice the Patrons there. If one person controls all four Patrons, they win instantly. That's also why the Prestige score is not being shown in numbers, it's showing all four Patrons instead because that was how your opponent won.

I won a game this way once, when my opponent went over 40 Prestige and I had no hope of catching him, but I *did* control two Patrons, and one of the cards on the table was the card that lets you use two Patrons in one turn, so I flipped both - and won.

You may choose to interact with one of the Patrons once per turn if you meet their requirements. When you meet a Patron's requirements and call upon them, their state towards you shifts to neutral or favored. If you are already favored it cannot improve further. Having the favor of all patrons immediately results in victory.

I've done that to and it felt glorious! Good way to turn the tables on someone not paying attention.

You'd be surprised how many rank matches I've won from people just not paying attention to the patrons. I actually feel bad when I do it sometimes lol

Playing against NPCs there is even a big warning on the screen before any turn, if the NPC is about to achieve a patron win. Ignoring this is not a good idea.
