PvP StamSorc with hybridization

I had a StamSorc about a year ago, but this was prior to the hybridization, so Magicka skills were few and far between.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a dinosaur, and it really is hard to teach an old dog a new trick.
What execute should I run: Executioner, or Mages Wrath? This character is 2H front bar.
As to back bar, I'm seeing a lot of, of all things, Resto staves on people for Rapid Regeneration. Is this actually viable now, or would I be better off running S&B back bar like I did last year?
Please help this old relic of the past!

✭✭✭Well, I don't play sorc in PvP, but let me try and help. The practicality of hybridisation usually comes down to sustain, but you're not going to spam Mage's Wrath, so you should be fine on that front. Executioner still has the highest scaling at +400% and some people really like that it scales from 50% health. If you use Dawnbreaker, then a case can be made that, with the 400ms ulti delay, Dawnbreaker into Executioner is still very strong and (can) happen(s) in a single GCD. On the other hand, if you use Overload and especially if you use Curse as well, there is a case to go for the magsorc-style ranged burst, which can include Mage's Wrath. The main buff stamsorc got this patch, which is out on PC, is that Crystal Weapon can proc twice from one cast. Overload is popular, these days, and if Crystal Weapon procs from Overload which I'm not sure of but if it does, you should bear in mind that you have a ranged option in Overload and Crystal Weapon, even if you otherwise play melee. That's where Mage's Wrath might fit in.PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)

✭✭Simple really, play a sorc with class damage shields or one without.
Hardened ward is the only sorc skill that bucks hybridization and forces you to stack magicka.

I run a resto backbar for regen on my stam sorc and it is working out really well so far for me. Since all skills now scale with your highest stat unless it says health it is viable to run mag skills on a stam char if you can sustain it.
Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.

✭✭✭StamSorc is the only Sorc worth playing right now. MagSorc is absolutely C tier at best.

I do have a question for you. Why do you choose Briarheart over Deadland's Assassin? Deadland's loses 6% crit chance and a crit heal, but has the same amount of weapon damage up 100% of the time. I'm asking because I wonder if I'm missing something or maybe the Briarheart crit heal is really good.1 -

Only real reason is that I already had Briearheart in my bank, golded out with prismatic glyphs. I also try to avoid using sets that "do damage for me" these days, because honor or whatever ;P the crit heal is not very strong but I do like it for the flavor, since it mimics crit surge.0 -
