Broken low pop bonus has rendered campaign scoring meaningless PC NA

I'm still not sure it's an exploit or not, but however it's happening, it's gotten so out of hand that the campaign score is now irrelevant. The score can not be used to determine who is winning or losing or who is fielding the best players with the smartest strategies.

The broken low pop bonus has made cyrodiil scoring totally irrelevant.

Is that the intention?

How is it that this easy to resolve issue is not even being publicly acknowledged, let alone resolved?

On PC/NA Gray Host (main campaign), the only thing you can tell from the scoreboard is which faction randomly had Low Pop when the evals ticked. It's even doing this when all 3 factions have been pop locked for hours.

I am referring to PC NA.

I don't know what to think anymore. There is no reason for a leaderboard on PC NA any longer or at least until they fix this. There is no way to know who is winning by looking at the leaderboard until they fix this.

Campaign scores have been irrelevant for a long long time. My opinion is they should be removed completely ( I know many people disagree).

As long as all factions (PC NA GH) disregard who is leading, refuse to hit a faction when they are over extended instead choosing to faction stack 2 against one.

Refusing to take a scroll because it may get a faction fighting you. so you dump it with the fishies or in lava.

PUG herders who look for the easiest pvdoor run amok, hitting farragut, rayles and bloodmayne with clockwork regularity.

Ballgroups that backdoor every keep take because they cant find any good fights.

    Sorry Campaign Scores mean nothing.

Yea this is incredibly dumb. The other day AD took Chim from Ash, threw it in the river, and 1st place EP had it back within 10min of its random respawn at Warden. They might as well have just handed to EP. If players are that afraid of PvP and refusing to even try to hold scrolls, that seems to indicate a critical design failure...

I've seen a lot, and I do mean a lot, of questionable behavior and decision making over the years playing this game.

Yesterday, some of the strategic choices made by certain factions on GH PC NA delved into the truly bizarre and nonsensical.

The aforementioned scroll dunking of the 1st place team. Who... who does that? Who gives away points to the first place team like that and why?

I dunno. I think this campaign may be a write-off as last was due to the pop bonus weirdness.

I think in some situations it's not always as clear cut that someone is a traitor. There's also new players who goof, or someone deciding it's more tactful to not take a scroll and to let it move further back to the faction that capped it to keep the heat off. I agree there are many unsportsmanlike behaviors, but identifying them accurately for consequences is more difficult. Like previously said marking someone a traitor can be abused and banning someone who didn't know what they were doing with a hammer isn't really fair either. Zone chat spying stinks, but how do you deal with it? Edit: wow I totally didn't realize I switched the threads I was reading and replied to the wrong one. Ignore me....

Generally scroll dunking is only acceptable when outnumbered and trying to keep from being double teamed.

4ad/2ep/2dc server pop bars... I've been told there's a code bug that's pulling AD pop data from the wrong server(s)? I'm unclear why they can't turn this bonus off until they can make it work properly and fairly. It shouldn't take effect at all unless one of the factions falls a certain threshhold behind.

To clarify the above post by Xylena, it's the Dominion that has the locked, 4 bar pop, while the others have only 2 bars.

This is getting out of hand and needs to stop.

Either remove the bonus until it can be fixed, or fix it. I don't care at this point.

AD almost assuredly want fair victories, their opponents want a fair chance.

This isn't something that can sit and molder until the performance fixes. This is not a major code change either. Just stop factoring it in for now.

And DC now has a low pop bonus while all factions are at 1 bar. So it goes both ways.

No one should be rewarded for "not playing". Try something like WOW used in Wintergrasp ... tenacity. Give the lower factions higher stats.

OR just set up an equals number que. We used to wait 200 plus to get into True Flame.

Not really too obvious either way, but as an AD myself, there are certain times that certain groups go MIA. Seems suspicious, but all they are doing is taking advantage of zos flawed ideas.

I seriously doubt anyone on AD is purposely exploiting how low pop is calculated. None of the groups I associate with do so. This is merely a sensational conspiracy theory meant to anger those lacking critical thinking skills.

I switched home campaigns to AD just for the low pop bonus. Last night during peak hours, we got it about 10 times even when we were pop locked all night. It was awesome!!

I doubt anyone is exploiting it though. At least no one talks about it in zone chat. I do agree it does get quiet sometimes, but people might just be taking a smoke break.

Same thing on PS4 GH NA server. AD is constantly accused of exploiting low-pop but in reality, we just don't have the numbers DC/EP has. It's been that way for the last few campaigns

Imho low pop potential points bonus should be disabled and potential points gained per objective should be dependent on "how difficult it was to capture an objective"

Same as we have with AP. You get more AP for defending/capturing objectives depending on what was the amount of attackers vs defenders & how long it took. In other words: with a player-made pvp content, the game rewards you more for doing harder content and less for doing easier content.

I don't know about you, but getting 1 potential point for capturing last emp keep with all 3 faction fighting over it and getting also 1 potential point for PvD empty keep that no one defends is just dumb.

My point is that for capturing objectives that are harder to capture - there should be more potential points. This would solve many issues regarding Campaign scoring system.

It's irrelevant whether it's an exploit or glitch, the low pop bonus is clearly broken, and has been for months - documentedly so.

There have been dozens of threads about it in several forum channels (also for months) but to all appearances they've been ignored.

As far as the score being useless? Anyone who has been playing in the 30 day Alliance-locked campaign for a while and is honest with themselves knows that campaign has never been won by "fielding the best players with the smartest strategies", but by the faction who has the most off hours day/night cappers. Its been that way for years, and all three factions have done it at various times.
