For the purpose of flanking/backstabbing, does a summon need to hit the back side of its target?

I'm thinking most notably of the Necro skill blastbones, but also maybe the warden skill that summons a cliffracer. For the purpose of counting as a "flanked" attack for the "backstabber" CP star, does the skeleton of blastbones running into the back half of the monster count as backstabbing, or does my character need to stand behind the monster and the skeleton could hit its front and still get backstab damage?

Ipsius✭✭✭✭As far as I know the summons inherit specifically your bonuses. So as long as you are flanking, your summons will count as flanking.
I have not tested it but the way summons inherit their bonuses is pretty consistently exactly what their summoner has at any given moment.1
