I've been toying around with this idea....a build focused mainly on light attacks. Maybe Molag Kena and...something else. Anyone ever tried something like this?
Molag Kena OR Krags + Skoria depends on how much penetration you can get from outside sources
Heartland Conqueror
Torugs Pact
Infused weapon trait
8k damage enchant pew pew (go Shock enchant if Sorc)
Take a look at Belharza's Band too. I can't say anything since I never used it besides on precursor dummy to test.
Looks like it is keeping it's flat damage bonus after patch goes live. Maybe it is worth considering (maybe not).
Aren't all builds Light Attack-focused? LA weaving is the standard now, so all you're doing here is focusing your passive buffs on LA instead of skills/procs. Molag Kena is the only set that actually encourages breaking this pattern so I would definitely recommend it here, but it's still a relatively small difference.
To be fair, I did try what I would consider a "true" LA focused build: Using NB and some LA boosting sets, I tried bursting enemies by pre-casting Grim Focus, using 5 consecutive LA's (From invis) then using Assassin's Will when it procced. The idea was that I would get faster AW procs by only using LAs (700ms between LAs instead of 1000ms using weaving), but the damage wasn't even close to LA weaving. Part of this is the (terrible in my opinion) change to LAs that all weapon types have the same attack speed, so even with daggers you just can't LA fast enough to outweigh weaving, even if you stack everything into them.
I'm using a light Attack build in PvP with my nightblade, It Is a mele build with torug and heartland conqueror, It deals a lot of damage (using grim focus, siphoning strikes and over 8k damage from glyph). Stats are not bad at all (30k health, 33k magicka, 4.8k spell power, a bit more of 1k magicka regen, a bit over 9k penetration, around 28k res).
I don't play a lot of PvE and I highly dislike end game PvE so donno how It works in that scenario, but maybe using Molag Kena Will Spice It up along with some more penetration from other meanings.
Is so much fun and the regen isn't so much an issue because my spammable are light attacks.
PS: I use a 2H Hammer and my build Is mainly magicka, and for PvP I'm using 5 heavy for res, HP and costitution passive for more magicka regen.
This Is the link, Is focussed for PvP but maybe you can just change armor type (from heavy to light to have more pene IE) and male It viale in PvE, probabile with the addition of belarzha band too instead of malcath band.
At least I guess Is a good point to start from.
PS: the build has a some Little variations like the off Hand weapon trait Powered instead of defending (with the second One your res Will go up) and the main weapon set glyph which restores some health, you can use wathever you want, the magicka glyph gives more sustain, in PvP the health glyph Is very usefull, the damage glyphs deals more damage for a chance of some good status effects
One set I like that hasn't been mentioned is Savage Werewolf. It's actually a good PvP set and is ok for PvE. Galerion's Revenge is an interesting option because as most seem to miss it stacks with anyone else also wearing the set. 2 people twice as fast to the detonation. But then so does every other stacking set that places a mark on the target. Azureblight Kjalnar's Nightmare etc.. Relequen is even a decent set in PvP when used correctly as each harmful wind is a stacking DoT.. Short stackable strong DoTs are what you want in fast paced BGS. Your damage isn't wasted when purged or cleansed. Great for a DoT build that knows how to LA weave well. Think outside the box most of the best players are not using a build from a site or yt. The light attack band is 900 flat damage which trumps Molag Kena in BGS if your LA weaving. That ones not rocket science. You might also consider a flat stat set like Draugr Hulk as stamina stacking translates directly to LA and HA effective power.
Or you could use molag kena I guess and/or UU UI but try something different is my suggestion.. that build is uninspired and is meant for those who think poetry must contain words that rhyme.
