Addon Introduction: FCO ItemSaver (Inventory Management)

As this is a difficult addon to introduce - there's so much in it - here is a scenario in which FCOIS works wonders. Please feel free to add your own experiences with FCOIS and suggestions to other players how to use it in the thread below.

Here is how FCOIS helps with Daily writs: 'run as many daily writs on several chars in the shortest amount of time incl. inventory management'

- FCOIS ' custom Lock (red) is highly useful in marking potions, food, mats. etc that are required for daily writs and that are kept pre-crafted either in the bank or crafting bag (for auto-withdrawal via Dolgubon's LWC).
The red lock prevents certain actions (configurable) such as accidentally selling or sending these items, and overall serves as good marker to check up on these items in case of having to restock them.

- 'Mark with selling' (inventory option/also as keybind) and 'Move all selling-items to Junk' (same/same): To keep a daily writ run under 2 minutes (for 7 daily writs including inventory management) these two functions of FCOIS are paramount. Items (Example: a specific green recipe) can be marked with the selling icon. Thereby any other instance of this item is automatically marked as 'selling' when it enters your inventory. With a single button press you can then move all 'selling' items to Junk. Daedra Husks, etc.,you no longer sell or move to junk individually but: open inventory, press 'move to junk' - sell at merchant, done.

- Cannot stress enough how much the latter eases your 'inventory game'. For this function alone FCOIS is fully worth the install. And this is jus the tip of the iceberg in terms of what this addon can do. (Another helpful addon for inventory, banking, junk management is Personal Assistant Banking, etc.)

- another feature used somewhat unconventionally on my part are the 'dynamic icons' (there are ~3 by default). I attached them to the three junk potions there are (essence of stamina, health, magicka) so as to distinguish them easily in the inventory from other potions that are 'selling' or crafted.

- another highlight are the 'set-markers': you can mark different gear sets with differently colored gear icons. Thus you you look at your inventory (or bank) and can quickly note: this item is for usage. But more importantly on the Equipment screen! You only need to take 1 look to check up on whether the char is wearing the gear you want it to!

So much for a very unappreciative take on this addon, because it is literally fraught with functionality (most of which I do not even know about.)
But beware: This addon will not remedy you of any obsessive inventory management urges you've picked up along the way. But it greatly reduces the opportunity for that :)

Thank you for the use-case description!

Some lines from me, as the author of this addon:
The main purpose of the addon is to protect your items so that they do not accidently get destroyed/sold/extracted or deconstructed.

It provides marker icons which you can apply to your inventory items. You are able to filter (hide, show only) these marked items and save the filter state for your different panelts (inventory, bank deposit, bank withdraw, crafting table refine, deconstruct, improvement, ...).
This way, and in addition to other filtering addons like FCOCraftFilter, AdvancedFilters and others, you can manage your inventories way better and more efficiently. Espcially with the AdvancedFilters dropdwn plugin filters which allos you to enhance the filters by several more (e.g. item sets, quality, level, duplicate ones, etc.).

FCOIS will also allow you to use autmatic marks (the marker icons will be set automatically) on set itms accordingly to your needs. e.g. add the deconstruction marker on all lvl<50 or lvl<CP160 items, or quality dependent, and so on.

It also provides possibilities to integrate other adodns like ResearchAssistant, CraftStore, SousChef to automatically mark your recipes (sell or keep) or your missing researchable items.

    To be fair:
The addon needs some time to be setup properly accordingly to your needs and usecase.
The settings menu is long and needs time to build up once. The tooltips at the settings provide as much info as possible.
And there also exists a FAQ with some questions and answers: https://www.esoui.com/portal.php?id=136&a=faq

Maybe, if you only want something that filters your items, there are other addons or the standard ZOs "lock" functionality which is enough for you.

But it integrates with so many other addons, and provides so many features (mass marking, move to junk like explained by ateso already, autoamtic marks, and so on...) that you are able to manage your addon items way faster + they will be protected and you do not accidently loose them anymore.

Nice insight on what seems like a very helpful addon. :)

Anyone know of an addon that simply marks or tags companion gear with minimal other features?

I'm on the hunt for a simple addon with a very specific and limited function: To help me quickly identify (when in my bank) and to not sell (when in my inventory) the companion gear items that I carry to switch Mirri from ranged dps to tank. I've got it down to her always wearing 5med and 2h armor so only weapons are a factor. Her ice staff and sword&board weaponry gets switched around alot depending on which character I'm playing. If I could simply lock her key weapons that would make them easy to find and prevent accidental selling but, alas, companion gear cannot be locked (grrr).

Anyone know of an addon that simply marks or tags companion gear with little or no other features?

Not that I know off. You can use FCOIS for that and disable all other features.
There are 5 static gear marker icons pre-defined where you can change the name.
Via the filter buttons you'd be able to quicly find them in your bank then.

I know FCOIS is "too big" for your needs but all other addons that existed and can "just mark" are gone afaik.
Except there are gear addons like AlphaGear etc. which mark your items automatically with some kind of "I belong to a gear" texture. But I doub they support companion gear.

@Baertram thanks for the answer. I'll just have to hope ZoS gives the companions their own little inventory. Or at least allows us to lock companion items. :)

Oh you could try if the old "Item Saver" still works, but I think it already was broken, the comments said so:
    https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info300-ItemSaver.html#comments

Read the comments, maybe someone linke a version that still works. It's a simpler "mark" addon but I'm not sure if companion items would work at all as it was created years before they were added.
