Sprint Speed advance stat stuck at 168%

I have a question on my sprint speed-core ability in advance stats is stuck on 168% no matter what I remove or use Mundus or speed potions or CP. The stat never moves. Any ideas on how to correct this?

    Gear?

You need gear to get to 200%

Ok, Nestor so max 168% without gear? I didn't know that and couldn't find that anywhere. Thanks, took all my gear off went to 156% but need sprint gear to get to 200%. Thanks for the help.

There is also the Medium Armor Passive that helps with Speed. So, that is gear, just not a specific set, just weight.

This thread shows a simple set up to reach 200% as most of the 5 Piece Sets that give speed will gimp you somewhat for combat.

I see that now athletics. I have 5 pieces and using the passive. I just thought when I used the 30% buff potion and CP it would never move higher from 168% was weird.

I do notice a difference in running after I use the 30% potion for 15.7 seconds it just doesn't show a change in the stats over 168%.

Tha dvanced stats are a bit weird. From what i can tell, that number is your sprint speed bonus. Ie it shows how much faster you will go when you sprint, not how fast you will go when you sprint. It takes account of medium armor passives (and decudtions from heavy armor) but you need to add swift traits, CP and major exped on in your head to understand your actual run speed. Frankly, given the in combat, out of combat, in stealth in combat, out of combat but in stealth variations I have to write it down.....

It is strange. When I put all boosts and CP on, it should be 200% or I think it should be but thanks for helping this noob out Nestor and Larcomar.

When I can't figure out why the stats are saying something it shouldn't be saying. It drives me nuts.

Np. I may not have been as clear as I could have been. As far as I can tell, that number is *not* your speed when you are sprinting. It's the *additional* amount of speed pressing the sprint button will give you, separate from any CPs which affect movement speed in general.

So for instance, on a character wearing 7 pieces of medium armor (3% additional sprint speed per piece) and with points invested in the sprint speed passive (an extra 4% I think), the advanaced stat page will show your sprint speed as +65%. Ie, when you press the sprint button you will get + 40% from sprinting, + 21% from the medium armor passive and +4% from the CP.

In reality, if my character also has the +20% to *all* movement speed (out of combat) CP from the green tree, and say celerity slotted from the red tree (+10% to movememnt speed all the time), his run speed, when sprinting (out of combat), will be 195%.

To give another eg, if my character had say, 3 pieces of swift jewelry and the celerity passive slotted his base movement speed would be 131% (21% from swift, 10% from celerity CP), his sprint bonus would be +65% so he'd be able to sprint at cap (200% movement speed) in combat.

That's my best guess anyway. Yes, it's confusing as hell. It puzzled me for ages. Why they didn't just put in a run speed in combat and run speed out of combat is beyond me.

Advanced stats for speed is actual sprint speed, without temp buffs like wild hunt, cowards, etc that activated on movement.I tested it with ravspeed addon, and works fine. You do need to adjust reference speed to 275 for accuracy, since addon not updated regularly.I can easily hit 200% on a dk with all med gear and skill passives and wild hunt, but still shows 165(actual speed without ring) in stats with or without ring.

Thanks, Larcomar and Belial for breaking this down in detail. It's hard for me to get my mind around this. But I understand why I am showing 168%, not 200%. Just seems they could have simplified this a lot more lol.

If it helps, I did a thread on speed caps a while back. It is a bit dated, but as far as I know its still accurate. I dont always trust addons in this department. The one I used was Rav Speed, but I did a fair amount of testing, and I do trust the results I got at the time. I havent seen anything in the patch notes since that anything was changed.

to go along with this, there are actually a lot of stats in the advanced stats which do not take into account everything

if you really want to be able to see all of your stats, with/without buffs then i would probably recommend using something like omnistats addon (i dont remember if it has a speed component to it, but it can show darn near everything)

Ok Necrotech thanks. I will check on that addon. The advanced stats tab doesn't sound very advanced ;) Maybe a new name like some stats.

i think the advanced stats panel is only considered advanced due to being more than the character sheet, but most of the values there may or may not take into account buffs and still dont really show everything (such as crit dmg) lol

ive also never found it helpful because if i do want to monitor my stats on the go, i have to pop buffs and then open the character sheet advanced stats, at which point some buffs could run out or others only accessible while in combat (feels clunky)

addon alleviates a lot of those issues lol

It's funny, I noticed that on RavSpeed as well. I think when I first did the testing in my thread, it didnt have the slider, or if it did, I didnt notice because it was set to the correct number. By default I think RavSpeed is now at 250, and recently I moved the slider to 275, which gives me the accurate 200% movement speed when at the cap.

My guess, is that it might be based on the "walk" speed. I think technically there are three basic movements, Walk, Run, Sprint. I havent actually "walked" on a character since Beta. Haha. Walk is just a slower version of Run, but neither consume stamina. When we say 200% is the speed cap, we are really talking about Double the default "Run" speed.

I love the addon it helps a lot but unfortunately, it doesn't have the speed option oh well. But I am enjoying the addon thanks.
