Missing Fonts/Text - Unplayable on M1 Max Macbook Pro

Hello,

I have the 16 in M1 Max (32 core gpu) macbook pro. When launching eso through steam, all the text/fonts are missing after logging in. The login screen (character select) is fine, but after selecting character and logging in, the game looks like the attached picture. Is there a font missing on my system or is this a known issue?

Might sound obvious, but have you tried a different theme in apple appearance settings in case for some reason you are getting black or invisible text just to see if it turns up?

I tried changing from dark mode to light mode, no change.
