Enchanting jewellery just WTF?

Some jewellery can be enchanted some cant be.

What determines what can be enchanted and what can't be, I have wasted money on rings and necklaces only to find they can't be enchanted, then crap I don't want that's no use to me, says you can enchant it.

Is there a system or something I need to know, so I stop wasting money buying jewellery that I can't enchant

Just such a poor design.

as far as I know the only jewelry that shouldn't be enchantable is jewelry that allready has an enchantment with a lock symbol displayed near the enchantment.

ofcourse you do need to enchant jewelry with the correct level of enchantment, like all equipment... and furthermore only "circular" glyphs will be usable on jewelry.

alot of beginning jewelry is bound to your char, you cant upgrade those, just watch for the lock symbol in the upper right corner of the icon

I do have to agree that I find this design choice, disturbing.

I'm not sure why we can not craft jewelry, nor why some can be enchanted, and others can not... find a jewelry that is of any use to your toon, and it being enchantable, is a fair challenge.

Hopefully this will get changed, hopefully.

Today, still wanted by the developers she survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a bot problem, if no one else can bite you, and if you can find her....maybe you can hire The SQUISHY."

You can enchant any white jewelry because they don't already have an enchantment, or any jewelry that does not have a lock symbol.

Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster

Yes, but, white items.. ewww. :)

I think the whole point, is why are there restrictions on the items that can hold the biggest variety of enchantment, which also happens to be the only uncraftable one :)

Ok thanks for the info about the lock symbol (they really need to make that more obvious)

Still a poor design imo, but hopefully will get better when they introduce jeweller.

I would be surprised if they didn't incorporate jewelcrafting as a skill.
If you use the crafting tracker to show you whether you need to research something on a particular piece, it applies to the jewelry as well, so it seems to be using something similar to other gear templates statwise. But then I know didley squat about programming, so ... yeah.
Anyway, it accounts for 3 pieces of gear. I'd say that puts it fairly high on the list of things that need to be added.
