Fun Solution to Economy

We all know how weird the ESO Economy is.
I am in a Trading guild where I buy and sell things, but it still feels awkward.

This solution would give Guild's a great way to showcase them self's and creative players a chance to really bring ESO to life. It Would also give guilds another Goal to work for and possibly create a new crafting skill line.

When a guild gets the prerequisite number of players to open a guild shop, give them the opertunity to "Rent" a piece of land. This will become the guilds Home - a place where the guild can set up player shops or a central NPC Bazzar. They could build Houses and decorate according to their taste.
-Edit: An instanced piece of land, but any player in that faction could travel there.

Decorations/Houses/Vendor Stands could be craft'able and place'able like the siege equipment in Cyrodiil. Houses could be decorated and perhaps a safe place to keep items (other than bank).

The guild/players would have to pay a price in Gold for upkeep. The guild would have to "rent" the land from their faction leadership. And each player would then pay a fee on his home/shop or it be destroyed. This way non actives wont clutter up the instance.

I feel player creativity is what makes a truely great MMO. The fact players can create such great addons is allready huge. Being able to create a guild Home/Village/Trading Market would be an awsome step in the right Direction. NO AH, but still able to compare prices, Great crafters can make a name for themself. Creationists can create an awsome guild HQ. A potential new crafting tree for decorations

Or you could just take a keep in Cyrodiil and your guild gets massive advertisement and the ability to sell your guild store items.

I could, and we do - but it can be hit and miss.
    - I could also be satisfied with the game content as it is. Which I am, but I will never reject more, and player housing and marketplaces would be a great addition. I want a solution that would be fun and practical.
    - Many players are unsatisfied with the current system. I would myself love to see Housing and being able to make a guild village would also be great.
    - Most Fun PvP campaigns don't allow keeps to remain in your hands ( or not be under siege) for a very long time period. I do not want to be forced into unpopulated campaigns to hawk my wares.

Frankly I thought the Idea of guild stores in keeps sucked from pre-release many people also agree. it is also not working very well. I have sold NOTHING from a keep, only from the guild store in the bank. If the development team read this thread and like it - they are at liberty to do something about it.
You pointing out what current game mechanic is, proves only that you can state the obvious, thanks.

Question, if you don't keep up with the payments and your house is destroyed, what happens to the contents and decorations? are they destroyed as well? or are they temporarily moved to some sort of storage, where you have to reclaim them or loose them?
People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!

I guess you could do a forclosure System - where say you leave the game and come back after x amount of time you pay a fee - or you have an option to "pack" the house and store without penalty the image of it if you think your going to be away for some time.
    - You will lose your prime location though. The Idea is not to have dead villages/guilds that clutter up the list or the instance. People come and go and that's the nature of MMO's so yeah - great question!

If one wanted to follow such a train of thought, why not remove all shops where green and blue-texted equipment are sold and replace them with guild stores? Create a player-driven economy in such a manner.

No idea if it would work but it might be fun.

@Ygge Where would I vendor all my junk ? :cold_sweat:
I am all for Player driven economy - However I think though what you are suggesting is 1 step away from an AH.
    - The best MMO's I have ever played were the ones were the players contributed the most to the game. That is what drew me to ESO in the first place and it attracts like minded players. AH is the antethesis to this, it is impersonal. I want to go to a player designed/themed shop and see that persons creativity within the limitations of the game. Then I can go to another shop and compare. Let the players create, that's what I want to see!!

Reprocessing might work. Everyone will want materials, eh?

Junk in the form of trophies such as daedra hide etc. could be sold at some bounty vendor.

@Skylandra Safe to say you do have a very good point.
