No, this won't stop us asking for stam whip. We play stamina. We build to have high stamina pools. We build to have high stamina regeneration. So no, our spammable costing magic is not what we wanted.
Saying "this is all your getting, stop complaining" when we spent years politely asking for something very basic and reasonable is just [snip] and unnecessary.
Obviously this isn't the end of the world but I got a little bent out of shape when I read that and felt the need to respond.

When I read that about a month ago, I definitely felt like it was very passive aggressive towards the playerbase.38 -

✭I agree that the comment was a bit snarky,
at first glance i thought it was because because stamina is for weapons and magica is for, well, summoning a whip made out of flame.. but then i remembered all the other classes have stamina versions of magica skills.
DK's had some weird changes over the past few years, with poop fist and poop rocks, not sure why you're not getting what you want.
But then again, as a warden main we never got what we want either,
A comment above about the devs doing the opposite to what people are asking for sounds quite true.

@Chaos2088 Has there ever been a duel scaled skill that cost stam? I cant think of one.
DK isn't my main but it's my favorite class to play. Unfortunately 4 of my skills (two buffs, a heal and a damage skill) were already costing me magic to cast. I can't see how I'll be able to make whip work as well but I'll give it a try.0 -

✭✭✭Not sure how a direct statement about their current design intention is passive aggressive. I know it sounds a bit off, but no one is being personally attacked. Now we know that this is the plan. No stanky whip for the near future, if ever.
It takes two to communicate, and while there can certainly be improvements from the dev side of things, the community can work on not bashing developers or sensationalizing every change or problem or feature request.PC-NA

Agree, now on many stamina builds I find the consuming soul trap very nice as it does damage, return resources on target death and cost magic who is an dump stat. As long as it actually does *damage* based on stamina, so what if it costs magicka? The fact that it costs magicka means it doesn't cost stamina - which means you don't run out of stamina so fast if you need to spend it on, for instance, other skills, or running around, or dodge-rolling, or blocking. Magicka is ONLY used for skills: stam is used for so many other things as well, that it's highly possible to actually get to a fight and not have enough stam left to fight with. On all my stam characters I've included at least one magicka skill on front bar just to break up the stamina usage: the fact that there's ONLY one magicka skill on front bar means I'm also pretty slow to run out of magicka, while letting me fight with stamina for a bit longer than if all my skills cost only stamina.5 -

✭✭Weird and rude reply in the patch but unsurprised. ZOS wants us to play a certain type and this one has been resisting: khajit mag warden; Breton night blade, Redguard necromancer and the list goes on but at the end we are at the mercy of whatever dev team and their favourites.
Thankfully with the introduction of Mirri and Bastie they have been the PVE death squads
