The damage weight on this set is only 6.6496 which is very low considering you must carry 10k+ Tel Var stones.

Here are some other sets to compare.

Clever Alchemist (6.2326)
Stuhn's Favor (6.5723)
Spell Power Cure (6.3333)
Spell Strategist (6.5659)
TItanborn Strength (100% hp = 4.6866, < 75% hp = 6.5011, < 50% hp = 10.0022)

You glow bright blue when wearing the set and it's completely obvious you're carrying 10k Tel Var stones.

It's not worth using for PvP when your damage remains the same as other sets.

It definitely does not need a buff.

As someone that has more in game time spent in IC then basically anyone that has played the game, Imperial Physique is and has been the most over tuned set implemented in the game. Imperial Physique strength is not its damage output it is defensive value it offers in the form of straight stat buffs. Now, over time certain things no longer scale with straight stats and that is felt mostly by stamina players but Imp Phy still offers the greatest defensive mitigation in sets for stamina players and when built right allows a competent magicka player to be immortal.

Now if you were to argue a horizontal power change to the set for stamina scaling, that would be a stronger argument, but would have to be done very carefully as, again the set is over tuned in competent players hands. For magicka players, if you die wearing Imp Phy, that's a learn to play issue. The risk reward for wearing Imp Phy is null if you play smart, enemy faction will never spot you unless you are in the middle of a boss fight. The real risk for wearing Imp Phy is players swaping factions to kill you, or telling friends in enemy faction where you are.

Not sure how Imperial Physique adds any substantial value for Mag Sorc in a 1vX scenario. The set provides less magicka than Necropotence and just barely outclasses Crafty Alfiq. The extra 6k health doesn't matter in a 1vX scenario where two enemy players can burst you with 40-50k damage in a global cooldown.

If you build for mitigation with something like Aetherial Ascension then your TTD (time-to-death) increases with health marginally and you can break free and dodge roll 1-2 more times. But that's it.

So what's the secret? What am I missing here?

Everything is not just about damage though. In terms of raw stat density, it is the highest in the game at 10k TV. Extra health and off-resource can save you many times, that comes along with the extra damage from main resource. It has the single strongest 5 piece bonus in the game, far more than Crafty Alfiq, Necropotence, etc.

It's probably good for Werewolf who absolutely needs all 3 stats. The weight would be a whopping 19.95 as opposed to most sets in the 5-7 range. So definitely the highest in the game.

Sithis + Imperial Physique + Flex Set. You'd have everything. Mitigation, sustain, movespeed, health, damage, and heals.

If you are stacking resistances as a mag sorc you are doing it wrong. Its always more beneficial to stack max magicka for shields stacking. Sheilds are also capped by max health now, so the extra health and magicka buff shields even further. Dark conversion, shield stacking, and streak all make a competent magsorc in Imp Phy immortal.

It provides a lot for Mag Sorc actually. There is a reason Death Dealer's Fete is a strong mythic on Mag sorc and that only adds 2600 of each stat at max stats. And most sorcs are running Alfiq + Mythic + 1 Domi + a mismatch of 2-3 pieces sets like trainee and Grace of the Ancients.

So a sorc wearing Alfiq, Death Dealer, and replacing the mismatch of trainee and Ancients with Imperial Physique gains 1K more max mag, but also 4,500 more max health and 6K more max stam.

That 4500 max health is huge and allows you to boost shield value by a substantial amount.

And 6K more stam is enormous. Likely puts you close to 30K stam. And a larger stam pool is great for dodge rolling, dark conversion, break free, etc.

A Sorc in Imp City running Alfiq, Death Dealer, Physique, and 1 piece domi, is looking at close to 51K mag, 35K Health, and 30K Stam, easily.

This makes sense, thank you for clarifying. I'll have to try Imperial Physique and to see if I can reach those numbers.

Appreciate the feedback and help trying to get value from this set.
