Blackest Sacrament Achievement Guide

My first guide to an achievement! I found a lot of people had questions/confusion around this achievement so I decided to investigate because I couldn't readily find answers online. It took me about 2 months using 4 different characters going every day at different times...luckily the quest itself only takes about 5-6 minutes once you know the maps inside and out!

The crazy thing about this daily quest is that it has 2 different rotations -- a "morning" rotation, and an "evening" rotation. Also, the primary and secondary target rotations are offset (one of them is 21 targets long, the other is 9 targets long but each target is one of two possibilities for a total of 18 options).

I've always killed the targets with the Blade of Woe (with or without poison, depending if they ask for it) and yet, today for the first time killing my secondary target, Herminius Andus, did not cross his name out in the achievement. Really weird.
Kind of annoying too, I only had 4 names left and I could've crossed out 2 with today's quest but nope. He's gonna come up as a primary in a few days but still...

I have only done the "2-for-1" in this daily quest twice, on two different characters, and it worked for me, but I have heard from others that it sometimes bugs out. That's definitely frustrating, but some solace that he is the primary target in a few days

I forgot about this particular hurdle but I'm tidying up a few achievements now and this is one of them.

Just a quick question, I am being dense, when you refer to 'morning' and 'evening' rotation I presume this is 'in-game time' rather than 'real-world time'?

If so what did you work out what hours are 'morning' and what 'evening'?

After having lived in a few countries I have come to realise that the meaning of these terms is not quite as universal as I thought.

I had tracked the quests for weeks but unable to find out when the targets changed or find a pattern in the quests.

I'm going to add this link to my Dark Brotherhood Calendar items.

@ApoAlaia -- the "morning/evening" are actually real-time and based on EST in North America (where I live). I don't know the *exact* moment when it changes from one rotation to the other, but I suspect that one of the resets happens at 2AM EST (when all daily resets happen) and the other is probably 2PM EST to give 12 hours of availability per rotation.

@BenevolentBowd -- I gotta say I'm quite chuffed to have this info included in the calendar! I love that calendar and thanks for your amazing work on it! Super freakin' useful.

The issue of the switch has eluded me for weeks. The only certainty I can confirm is the sacrament targets are as listed before and after the reset. Perhaps, I do periodic checks today. If I recall, I have notes about the first targets being around as late as 11pm ET.

Thanks for providing the useful detail on the targets. I was tracking the targets for weeks but because I would check at inconsistent times, I didn't discover the rotations. Great work.

I added the Sacraments to the calendar in phases and now the complete rotation has been added. I'm thinking about adding notes about guaranteed targets (those in both the first and second target lists on the same day) in the future.

The events in the calendar have links to your guide on your website. If that is a problem, please let me know.

Ok. I've been doing periodic checks throughout the afternoon. I may have narrowed done the reset time. The sacrament offered changed after the daily login reset (8pm). I checked at approximately 840pm. At approximately, 730pm the other sacrament was offered.

I've asked on Twitter if anyone is doing the sacrament for their endeavor between now and reset if they can confirm the receive the latest sacrament I recorded. Hopefully, I get a few confirmations.

first of all I play on the EU server, but the support cannot help me. I did the sacraments daily to get several achievements.

No only 2 persons left to kill in the bloody sacrament acievement. It is not a problem to kill them, but eben if I do, they ar enot counting. It doens't matter if I kill them with poison, the Blade of Woe or jab them away.

The support says: we checked your character and you GOT the achievemt. Probably it is displayed wrong due to the add ons. So I turned them off, relogged, starting the game new... Nothing changed. Any suggestions?

I think I have experienced strange things when my character had an old sacrament that wasn't the same as the current one. If I recall, once you start a heist or sacrament, you have to leave and wait 5 to 15 minutes before the area will reset. Perhaps, someone else has a better memory.

I'm pretty confident 8pm EDT is the daily switch over time. I have added a recurring event on my DB sacrament calendar indicating when this is.

I only twigged to the weird fact the Sacrament has 2 different targets at different times because I started doing it on 4 different toons over the course of the day...I ended up running through the full rotation of targets 4 times for each toon just to make sure. I switched what time the toons were running on each rotation just to see if targets were faction-based or anything like that.

One thing I never figured out -- there are NPC "groups" that inhabit the various maps: Trader's Cove has Sanguine's Revelers, Shadowbanish Vintners (mispelled as Vinter's), and Vile's Contrivers; Smuggler's Den has League Miners, Dragonstar Caravaneers, and University Scriveners; and Sewer Tenement has Bandaari Peddlers, Gold Coast Traders, and Resolute Votaries. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out if there was a rotation for those factions as well, but they don't seem to affect the targets at all, so ultimately I gave up. I could *sort of* predict which faction would show up but it wasn't 100%. Talk about getting into the weeds!

@KalevaLaine -- I'm not sure how to fix your bug, but I do know the achievement is a bit buggy. I had a few weird errors happen while I was doing the achievement across 4 toons. It might fix itself, or you might have to leave it alone and come back to try to get those targets at a later date and hope that helps. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!
