The best piece of gear is gonna be the vateshran 2h if you can be bothered with a bit of pve.
You need good defense atm, pariah is the meta option here.
Clever alch/armor master is meta for backbar, but if you don't like that powerfull assault is a good alternative
Going with a second arena weapon set and a mythic is also a great option.
Mix medium and heavy however you like, there are no 5 piece armor bonuses anymore, you will only need 5 med for shuffle
Serpent is mathematicly the best mundus, sugar skulls best food if you use mag skills alot

I don't really want to bother myself dropping perfected weapons/mythics that's why I just want 2 normal sets.
I was thinking about pariah already and I will go with that.
What offensive set would you recommend instead of NMA?
Isn't warrior better than serpent? 90% of the people are running warrior.
I was using lava food but I'm thinking about working on my sustain with more heavy attacks and swapping to sugar skulls.
I didn't even realize there are no 5 pieces bonuses anymore, I will go with heavy on head chest and legs for extra armor then.

Vateshran 2h and malacath are bis on stamdk especially but also on stamden and stamcro.
You can get close without, but only close.
Stuhns, witchknight and scavenging demise are good frontbar.
Lava soup + warrior has the same stat density as sugar skulls + serpent, except you get 5k extra mag with the latter. I know a many swear by their lava soup atm, but most just copied that blindly from someone else.
Only on stamcro without race against time does lava soup makes sense, since you wont need any extra mag anyways.
Scavenging demise and with knight only on stamdk, didnt clarify that.
For stamden you can pair pariah well with stuhns, but then you need to dizzy/bird before dawnbreaker combo.
The new craftable set heartland conqueror is also highly effective and meta. It pairs well with pariah on any class. Use it with sharpened frontbar and powered/defending backbar weapons.

Let's say I would go with stuhns, is nirnhoned maul still the best option for 2H?
Similar question goes to heartland, why sharpened over nirnhoned? And is maul still the best?
If I would go with heartland do I get rid of my potentates on back and just use 1h and shield from heartland?
Do you think 3x heavy (chest, legs, head) and 4x medium is a good option? Or should I just go with standard 5x medium and 2x heavy?
Is impenetrable/well fitted still meta?
How are you guys sustaining this in no-cp?
All of the suggestions are around a defence and offence set.
I've been using Pariah and Eternal Vigor, (and dubious camoran throne) with offence from infused weapon damage jewels and balorgh.
I'm really struggling to find a replacement for EV, as I use both the stam AND mag from it heavily.

It's a nice set up. Fits really well on the warden. I'd prefer EV was pure recovery but tbh heals are good enough that, if you're under 50% for more than a few seconds you're probably going to die anyway so Ive stuck with it.
Ofc now we have the no proc silliness again. I don't think there is a replacement for EV; unless you're going to try something wacky like twice born star, the only set I can think of that gives anything like that mag and stam recovery is amber plasm which is ofc a mag set. Shacklebreaker's actually only 129 of each.
Like most of my guild I'm going to leave no cp when zos ban all these egregious "free damage" sets like EV, bone pirate and btb. Again.... If you're staying, the only thing I can suggest is switching to food like jewels of misrule (you'll trade 3000 stam for stam and mag recovery), running serpent and maybe a recovery glyph.
Alternative, cut down on mag usage by switching from artic to spores, and maybe dropping shimmering shield for blinding flare. That would mean mag's just there for you're armor and bird, which is manageable, and you could switch to a damage set with say serpent mundus and one recovery glyph. Might just even out.
Yeah - the real benefit of EV is having mag recov to sustain heals while blocking. Looks like I either have to choose to lose that - or lose some weapon-damage.
Actually, shacklebreaker may not be too bad.. The extra max-mag could be a big enough buffer so as to live with a bit less mag recov - and the extra wpn-damage + stam would make up partially for switching warrior to serpent.. Also have a ton of it gathering dust in my bank.
So, what's the best trait for shield and 1h sword?
powered/defending/nirnhoned?
sturdy/impenetrable/reinforced?

I think it's a toss up between the necros innate tankiness + passive healing and the wardens ability to burst heal off either pool, but yeah, it is a nice sway of doing it
I forgot to mention one obv set you might consider - willow's path. Gives a line of mag, stam and health regen and the 5 piece is +18% to regen. I thought about it, but the issue is that, to get anything decent out of it, you really need to be up around the 1500 regen mark anyway. Twice born + serpent and atronach wd prob be better - would give you 310. Still, it does fall into the EV Amber plasm bracket.
Shackle might work, though you're still losing what 460 regen mag and stam? Bit hit. If you're going to build a bigger mag pool to cushion, maybe forgo balorgh for two one pieces that give a line of stam and mag like swarm mother. Depends how much you rely on balorgh tho. I used it a whilem found the results a bit lackluster tbh at low ulti, but hated having to wait to blow my load till 500. Esp as dawnbreaker can be iffy with lag. And you might end up having to use your defensive ulti. In the end I switched to malacath + 1 piece kragh. Its prob not as strong on paper, just feels more consistent.
