What stats affect Sorc pets?

I am going to try a pet build on my MagSorc and wonder what stats will affect the pets. Does my Crit Chance, Spell Damage etc. also effect the damage they do? Will my Critical Surge boost their damage? If not, is there a similar skill I could take to help them out? I've always avoided pets so now I'm at a bit of a loss. Thanks for your help!
