Maintenance for the week of September 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 10:00AM EDT (14:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 14:00 UTC (10:00AM EDT)

Does the community actually want another tank meta or completely different changes?

@katorga @chuckythexii mitigation is being multiplicative is exactly the reason why it applies in exactly the same proportions.

Lets say you had 80% mitigation and you got to the point where you mitigate 82% damage. Is it "just 2%" so it's not worth it? Wrong, because (100%-82%) / (100%-80%) = 10%.

Say, you have 20k HP base.
    With 80% mitigation it is 20k / 20% = 100k effective HP
    With 82% mitigation it is 20k / 18% = 111k effective HP

And given it is mitigation that defines if you can outheal incomming damage (apart from healing strength), stacking all the %mitigations you can get never hurts.

OFC competitive duelists will always be sitting at "just enough burst to kill and rest in toughness". Always were there.

You are assuming that everyone is easily able to get the full resist values they need in order to take advantage of the exponential scaling. Light and medium armor wearers can't, therefore since they cannot take advantage of the scaling the first thing they will sacrifice for more damage are resistances since those are now 20% less effective than they were. Light and medium builds benefit more from increasing damage because those scale up with their passive bonuses, while mitigation sees diminishing returns.

Yes just stacking mitigation can hurt if it doesn't synergize well with the rest of your build. With this patch non heavy builds will see a lot more benefit from stacking damage instead of resists.

There are no diminishing returns, that is what I'm saying. The problem of stacking mitigation is inability to kill with your burst, since you need to invest in damage for that, and damage is often sacrificed for that.

You are right in the part that med/light builds will profit from it, because the min-max point of perfect duelist will shift towards damage builds.

high dmg meta is so much more fun...I can't stand seeing only wardens and necros with their high resistances and heals, and yet they can still pump out dmg and kill people because of the burst they have in their class toolkit.

    Man I don't understand ZOS.
