Not looking for clout or fans, just enjoy healing and making the videos. Hopefully this will help more people become interested in PvP. Much more crisp if watched on YouTube directly. On a side note some guy sat in the base for the entire last game and we won :p

I'm subbed to your youtube channel and it's impressive to see.

Your vids and FengRush are my go to streams / channels to watch Templar PvP play but I cannot for the life of me make it 'work' like you two can - almost with ease.

I'm at a total loss on how you survive so easily not stacking defensive gear sets

    Dauntless Combatant
    Eternal Yokeda Warrior
    Earthgore Monster set

No gear resistances at all. No mythics. What are your Spell/Physical resists here? How are you able to take so much punishment and still survive so easily???

You're basically doing BGs in PvE gear here and yet you don't have any issues staying alive at all.

Blows my mind as when I do BGs (I run Earthgore, Pariah & Transmutation - The 'greedy' self preservation setup) I only need to get breathed on before I'm crushed like a bug in 3 seconds of burst.

    I don't get it.

I know I'm missing something here... but I can't tell if it's gear, ability/skill/experience or a combination there of.

I play just Solo Random BGs and I have to admit it gets pretty damn sweaty in there. Some of those players can destroy you in a heartbeat no matter what you're stacking.

But it's an experience where I can't wait to just complete the daily and get out.

It's so frustrating and unfun when you don't know what you're doing.

Your setup is clearly not meta at all. I don't know of anyone who runs a setup like this for serious PvP play and yet you're doing it with ease.

Are you part of a PvP guild? How did you learn all this stuff???

His ult helped him a lot. Watch how he plays away from the melee and moves around the fight instead of in it.

Not just templar, but pvp in general is about resource management. Recognizing fights to commit to, which to avoid and how long you can commit to a fight is important.

    What is your set up?

Overall, it was a nice video and I hope to see more.

I have few suggestions for you that might help improve your build more. These suggestion are purely based on my expiernce. Repentance morph much better than radiant aura, it has same recovery and give you stam and heal you and your allies if someone dies. Tapling charge is better than shield charge because it give you minor protection for 5 secs everytime you use it and it sets the target off balance, off balance is good for resource return and increased HA damage. Piece armor is nice but if you want to debuff your target, caltrap is better because it is AOE and snare while piece armor is single target. You can also use heroic slash instead of piece armor to get more ulti regen and use your ulti more, orb is also another option if you lack healing and it is nice for resource return to your teamates. Last thing is sun shield, I have used it and compared it to living dark and I found living dark t9 be much better. The healing, ulti regen, snare and minor sorcery buffs seems to me much better than using sun shield with minor protection only.

Line of sight, blocking and dodging rolling will help you a lot to survive. You also have to make sure you do not lose your buffs and they are active all time.

Yeah thanks for the feedback guys. I keep watching players like this to learn, but I'm finding that getting good at PvP is a LOT harder than PvE - especially as a healer.

In PvE a healer can sit at the back and throw down the love.

In PvP, people run through the pack and smack you upside the ear!

But I'm determined to get better. I watch Templar Healer PvPers as that's what I play, but I know I've got a LOT to learn.

I'm 1200+ CP and still feel like a clueless toddler in PvP.

Keep releasing these videos Selminus, I love watching them!

I appreciate the feedback. I will try repentance I just didn't like the idea of working off of corpses considering how long some of the high MMR fights go before someone dies, magicka drain for my team seems smarter there. But honestly the regen matters the most.

I do not use toppling charge because I would prefer to spend stamina to balance out my resources overall. Many times I end up on my front bar is because my back bar is tapped.

Caltrops only has the single breach and pierce has double. When I use Invasion->Pierce its usually a death sentence if a DPS sees it and the opportunity comes up often. The double breach can be more than 50% of some people's mit. I will give it a try anyway.

Sun Shield and Living Dark are apples and oranges but I see why you could compare them. I have that there for when I am on the staff bar and in trouble but it could be an interesting switch and I do have a ward on my front bar.

    Thanks for these interesting points.

Are you part of a PvP guild? How did you learn all this stuff???

Years of experience in diff MMOs and recognizing the role of a Paladin type playstyle in small scale PvP. This Pariah/Xmuter stuff is coming out of Cyro and alot of people do not think for themselves so it spreads. Yokeda and Earthgore are not only just strong but complement each other greatly. Earthgore will ensure that I get to use my second ult from Yokeda. My resists are gargantuan because of my traits and armor. I think they are both 25-28k on either bar.

Don't queue solo BGs. You won't learn there. Go get demolished like I did for a few weeks and try to meet some people while working on your OWN build. I've been doin this for months and still can't find a serious group to play with but you will meet individuals that you can friend who will group and grow with you, just needs to be someone on your level that is determined. I think the core of the problem is that the ZoS system will make a 3 or 4 man premade wait a very, very long time to get in. You are punished for success in a way.

    Thanks for the compliments.

I'd LOVE to see you make a breakdown video and/or post up a build guide / breakdown. I love the setup you have here and would seek to have a similar setup. I've been able to glean the basic configuration from the results page you display at the end of the vid, but it doesn't always cover the why of the gear / skill choices you make and given you're off meta, it's interesting to hear / understand why you make the picks you do. Even from some of the feedback here on this thread it's clear there's questions around your setup choices but watching the video... you clearly know what you're doing which is very interesting to see.

Off meta builds and playstyles that are effective in game represent players who think outside the box and have valuable information to feedback to the community. You know your stuff which is why I'm intrigued with your content.

I cannot for the life of me get into any sort of 'aggressive' setup as a PvP healer. I'd much prefer the tanky unkillable path than one that tries to do the middle ground thing

ie Like Mr Miagi says "You walk a road, yes? You walk left side, safe. Right side, safe. You walk a middle of the road, sooner or later you get squish, just like a grape"

For me, the healer role in PvP is the same thing. Either go full heals or don't bother at all.

Your style of play feels like that style and that's why I'm watching your vids closely.

There's not many pure Templar PvP Healers that post content online, but the ones that do post are gold for me as I learn the ropes...
Don't queue solo BGs. You won't learn there

I'm caught between a rock and a hard place there.

Sad to say, I have no friends so I play this game solo. Solo queue sucks though (you're definitely right) as people don't give a DAMN about protecting the healer at all.

PvE healing is a thankless task - we do it purely for the love of a job well done. PvP healing solo... GOOD LUCK because no one gives a damn no matter what you do.

It's frustrating, but that's how it is.

That said, I've used all 5 of my Guild slots for Auction house but I dropped one yesterday to start scouting for a dedicated PvP guild in Xbox NA to see if there's one that will adopt me and teach me the ways!

Thanks again for your advice and feedback. Your videos help more players than you think and I enjoy the simple format you present in. Please keep posting them!

Go out and make something that fits who you are and how you play. Don't get the paralysis of analysis

That's what I do with mine.

I run Battalion Defender, Hist Sap, and Glorgoloch. I plant my house and can absorb a lot of damage, while hopefully my allies can nuke everything. I try and cc with javelin and time stops.
