Ranged Templar needs alot of love.

Dark flare was overly nerfed. As a skill with a cast time and slowish projectile speed it shouldn't do less damage than attacks that are instant cast and also ranged. Piercing javelin needs a bit more damage not much but about a 10% increase if that. Purifying light needs changing or even a buff. The skill is severely under performing compared to other burst skills in other classes. It's so bad nobody even thinks about using it. Ranged Templar use to be good for 1v1ing and bursting people as fast as a mag sorc. Now it does none of those things. I don't know of anybody else who plays ranged but all the nerfs to the ranged abilities to a templar don't make any sense and completely ruined any type of ranged gameplay. So please ZoS buff dark flare up again. Because it really needs it.

    Never see Dark flare anymore since ZOS last changed it. Honestly you would not see crystal fragments either if it was not for the instant cast and 66% damage bump. Major Defile just not compare to the Crystal Fragments to be instant, deal 66% more damage, and cost 50% less Magicka. Those two skills are treated the same but you crystal frag on just every Magsocr build PVP or PVE and never see Dark flare.

    I agree! I miss playing ranged magplar. The Eclipse nerf, the Dark flare nerf, the shield nerf, the light armor nerf, the purifying light nerf, the healing nerf, we're forced to just become heavy armor jabs bots to compete.

    Jabs, the only offensive skill left to templars that's any good, and ZOS might nerf that too. I just don't get it! What the hell is the templar class supposed to be now. A healer class? No, the are other classes with stronger heals. A DD class? No, there are many other classes that are better at damage. ZOS plz tell us what's the templar now. A mule to store sets you don't what?

    I forgot to add that the burning light passive is completely useless for a ranged magplar. The combo would be buffs, purifying light/vampires bane, flare then javelin and usually that would kill someone. Now without the burning light passive to help with the burst damage from javelin there becomes a significant damage loss. The burning light passive is basically a passive that is ONLY for jabs with an argument for shards. It really sucks because I have played a ranged magplar in pvp for about 3-4 years and now it's just an extra bank space toon....

    I miss the pre-nerf dark flare too. But the entire templar class is basically pigeonholed into jabs. Maybe one day things will change..

    I might be the last Templar still trying with dark flare. Even built around magic damage, I'm seeing lower 4 digit damage when I used to hit for 5. Add to that getting stuck casting when lag hits, and I've finally faced the truth. That well is dry, there's no more burst potential to squeeze out of it. Time to start rethinking my build.

    It would be nice if they removed the 22 range limit on jav and then remove the stun to compensate in order to make it a true ranged spammable. Ranged templar is my favorite way to play
