How are NB stamina bow/2h builds in vet rank pvp?

I'm leveling a nb obviously and the style I'm going with atm is medium armor with 2 heavy and want to focus mostly on solo pvp near dungeons skyshards etc. just wondering if they perform pretty well at high level, if anyone has any experience with it.

I'm looking to open with snipe and poison arrow swallow soul etc get as much dmg in from range and then use 2h and the close range nb skills for when I'm forced to melee.

Does it work? Or do the other classes have skills that pretty much everyone uses that can counter that and shut it down. Or is it something people have to build specifically against and create opportunity to still win if they are set up for team fighting for example.

Edit: reason I'm asking is cuz I keep reading that dk in particular are basically killing everyone. So should I focus on something else? Can another class do what I'm talking about better then the nightblade?

Nightblade in PvP or PvE is bad.

They are really bugged atm. They don't have non luck based defensive CD and their sustain can be mitigated since it is related to the amount of damage they do.

Nightblade on 1v1 are awesome. I have lost only 1 or 2 times in 1v1s(because enemy was very experienced player).
Use Piercing Mark(morph for Mark Target) before you attack. This will wreck your enemy`s armor and he will not be able to go invisible(just in case if he is nightblade).It is also useful for 1v2 because when you kill your first opponent you will get 40% health back.
Everything else is up to you. I personally recommend using Ambush(which will hit really hard(1k) if stealhed), normal attack+Blood Craze( I am dual wield you can raplaced it with cleave) then go invisible, Surprise Attack(this will stun him for 4.3), then heavy attack+Blood craze again. Then finisher(reverse slash or Assassins`s blade)
My build allows me to do it(go invisible+Surprise attack) like 3-4 times non-stop.

Bow performs MUCH better in pvp than it does in high level(VR area) pve. 2h is nice cause it does some really nice damage. Especially if you're able to get off an uppercut, while stealthed, on a target. Buh bye 1.8k health. But, it's single target dps only really. Can't really use destro or restro staff to it's full potential as a NB. So, overall it's pretty good.

Yeah a lot of these guys are giving false info if you try to 1v1 anther class they will cc you pop their defensive steroid and heal while blocking.

Night blades are lacking on CC as well no stun unless invisible no AoE cc only slow is reliable but their hard CC is bad

I got my nb to VR2 and re rolled to Stamina DK which is a lot better

They will no have chance to cc you if you do it right.Even if they do you can break it easily. My build for instance is focused on magicka and health and I use too few stamina based skills (only venom arrow and blood craze). So I have a lot of stamina to break cc and go invisible right after. And there are also some cc that you cannot break but you can roll dodge(for instance dark talon or destructive touch skill with frost staff).
I recommend you to use Volcanic rune(morph for Fire rune) since you are stamina based you can trool your enemies. Moreover, if you have no other magicka based ability on your bow bar, you can use Volcanic rune and Mark target at the same time.
Good luck on battlefield and do no expect to win hardcore PvP players since they know how to deal with nb

You can tell who actually pays attention when playing their nightblade by seeing whether they mention mark target's armor reduction, lol...Mark target's armor and resistance reduction is busted, it's basically a non-functional skill aside from stopping invis and a heal after you kill someone.

Nightblades are in a very bad place, you can perform decently, but anybody playing a nightblade well could play another class and do much better, which is pretty sad. That said, I think nightblade is pretty fun even if it's not as good, so I'm going to keep playing it and hope for some buffs and bug fixes down the line.

Not to mention that if you use marked target and aren't able to take that target out in a few seconds, that armor debuff(75%) applies to you as well. So, if you make ONE mistake and that player is able to withstand your initial onslaught, you are pretty much boned.

Also DK Pierce armor and engulfing flame can take off 80% of your armor since atm it takes of max armor not current armor.

NB are a buggy mess atm.

Do you think a Dk could be spec'd to do the same style of solo pvp ganking etc better then nb? Do people play dk's like that that you know of, or seen videos by chance?

Do you think it is the bow in general that sucks or the nb class just doesn't synergize as well as other classes with it? Is it still worth using as an opener but maybe being a dk using a bow is better because they can stand toe to toe better.

I was hoping there would be a setup to kill someone before they were able to even get to you but prolly not that easy huh

You can do this, if you use marked target. But you have to be perfect in everything that you do. If you slip up, you're most likely going to die. And bow is nice for a NB, as it deals decent damage to most players. But, I don't think it's anywhere near on par with all the rest of the weapon skill lines.

I truly appreciate all the input given. But I guess what I'm trying to get out of all this, is if I should stop wasting time, only 20 on my nb, and go with a class who can pull off 1on1 fights better using a bow, and whatever other weapon for melee. No real particular weapon I prefer for melee. Whichever works best.

Also asking cuz I noticed the Dk has really nice self heals and armor buff etc. so if they can pull off the same initial dmg with a now from range but at the same time be more capable of surviving against someone manages to close the gap.

Sorry if I keep asking too many questions or sounding redundant, I just don't have a lot time to play so want to put the time I do have into a class most effective at the style of pvp I'm going for. (1v1) roaming pve areas and sky shards in cyrodil

NB is decent, but other classes can do pretty much everything a NB can do, and do it better. But, I wouldn't worry about the 1v1 situations. You run into them, but not nearly as often as running into groups of ppl.

Yah, I'm just trying to relive my old daoc days of finding stragglers at choke points or going to points of interest that might attract people solo or with a buddy etc, and usually if you die or they die they come back to try and best you and it ends up going back n forth a while. Made for some fun rivalries, start seeing the same like minded people showing up in the same spots etc

Dk does look impressive, I tried playing one in beta but I didn't really give it a fair shot. Just seemed kinda slow to level to 8 compared to my nb did, but I didn't really give it a fair trial. Would you recommend just blowing through levels as fast as possible using an aoe build and then focus on leveling the bow later, like in the 40's?

Yeah I miss the days of SWG where a group of 4, using tactics, strategy and skill, could take out MUCH larger groups. Wish this game would take some ideas from the Medic profession in the NGE SWG. With the targeted heals and such.

Daoc had realm ranks that were like veteran ranks but unlocked abilities and passive stats that drastically improved your char too, was always something that kept me having something to strive for, when you saw that guy who was same class as you but had rank 10 title you knew you were in for some hurt if you mess up lol.

Always wanted to be that guy who was decked out and posted up somewhere and basically have a bounty out for u lol.

Took a looooong time to max out pvp rank in that game tho, like a good year of solid pvp everyday for a few hours lol

I'm only level 43 so far, but Mark + Bow + DoTs works great for me in PvP currently.
I figured since I can already fight Veteran players, gearing up to their level would only make it more effective rather than less so.

NB doesn't get worse really, it's just the other classes attacks become slightly better. NB is, to me, just a single target DPS class. They aren't as effective as templars or DK's or Sorcs, because they really don't have any built in tanking abilities and/OR don't have AoE abilities like the other 3 do.

Mark doesn't even reduce armor atm.

I got marked while i was at a Sky shard and when he opened on me I used Dragon blood then reflective scales since he was on a tower he noticed his bow attacks couldn't fight my reflective spam so he ran up to me just to get bashed to death.

I'm running medium armor bow/1h shield
You can block for days with green dragon blood

It should also be taken into consideration that the game just released and balance is almost guaranteed to change. Never make a class decision based purely on what is more powerful right now.

Or a Sorc, or a Templar. As I said, NB is a single target DPS class. Which pretty much makes it a pariah in mass pvp where AoE damage is king, the same with PvE. It's not that NB is really all THAT bad, it could be a LOT better if some tweaks were done. It's just that every other class can pretty much do EXACTLY what a NB can do.....and do it better.

NB Bow.. well bow.. is the worst weapon against VR 10's. Once you reach over 3k hp and once u get the pact set which is easy to get within a day.. then you cant kill someone with a bow as long as the other player isnt completely brainless. Bow has the highest dmg burst (stealth) but after the burst you are pretty much done and VR 10's just *** you.
