How can I lost my soul ?

Hi everyone, I start this game in 2020 summer and found this game really interesting. yesterday when doing quest, NPC says to me :"oh, it's you, the boy whose soul is stolen." Her line remind me of the video in steam shop : "you lost and reclaim your soul." At that moment, I thought I missed some legendary story .So my question is : where can I lost my soul ? Or this is some already removed quest which I'll never get a chance to experience ?

It's a reference to the main quest. When you go along with the Hooded Figure, you quickly wind up dead and soul-less. The dead part gets fixed a lot more quickly than the soul-less part does.

When it was first released, the game always started with the story about the player character losing his/her soul. It’s the start of an epic quest about eventually defeating Malog Bal, saving everybody, and getting your soul back. But if you bought a later version of the game, it starts your character off instead in one of the new chapter areas, like Morrowind, Summerset, or Skyrim and you have to travel to one of the original main cities (Daggerfall, Vulkel Guard or Davon’s Watch) to meet the “hooded figure” who lures you into the original story. It’s definitely worth doing.

Well, I have regained my soul, but some NPCs tell me I still have none.
Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

So, ask yourself, was that really your soul you were given back? Never trust a Daedric Prince.

And this is exactly why it's bad that any continuity in this game has been broken and you can complete any quest in any order, leading to huge plot holes and unexplained situations, which only confuse new players.
