I recently had something a touch frustrating happen, and was curious to see if this has been experienced by others, and perhaps offer a word of caution.
About a week ago, an individual from the guild <Name omitted> (the only person in said guild that I'm aware of.) put out a call in Daggerfall looking for others to join a 'Vampiric' guild. I inquired about it, and was told that the first person to join would be 'bitten/turned'. I thought it could certainly be fun from a roleplayer's standpoint, so joined up. The other person said they were finishing up a few details, and would turn me within a day or so.
A few days came and went, with no results, though we did have friendly conversation now and then. I also assisted my supposed 'sire-to-be' by giving them several items, such as small stacks of Pitch, etc. I was told that due to a skill bug, the character had lost some of their vampiric abilities, and had a ticket in to have it fixed. No worries, so I waited... I said hellos and such, but never pressed the issue. Finally, after a week, I sent a mail last night, asking if all was well, and where things stood. I got my answer when I logged in tonight.
I had been un-friended, /ignored, and guild-kicked. I have no idea what happened. I helped this person in any way that I could, was friendly, and did not pressure in any manner whatsoever. So at the very least, this is a mild cautionary tale, if this person pops up offering a bite, then asking for several items for assistance while you wait for them to be ready.
I am unsure if noting the guild here is permitted - if it is, I will include it. Or if anyone chooses to, send me a private message and I will elaborate, but I understand calling people out by name is likely not permitted.
