Cost of a bite?

Texuss
Texuss
This is just a question and am after an opinion of some players.

I'm currently looking to join the vampires of Tamriel however after 3 nights game time using the /shovel emote, hoping to perhaps find a coffin with a bloodfiend within, I have decided it would perhaps be a time-saver if I just pay off a player to give me the double neck puncture. Unfortunately zone chat is about as helpful as a mousetrap phone ear-piece.

What is considerably a fair price for the Vampire skill line?

I've seen prices up to 20k now.

Why are you digging for Bloodfiends? They appear at random in packs of three's at night.

Well, Digging passes time to say the least. And I've seen prices varied in zone-chat of what people are saying they're worth, but never what someone actually pays. If anyone has actually paid for the bite, how much did you pay? And do you think it was fair now that you have the bite?

Usually a bite will cost 10-20k. If you want to buy a bite for convenience I suggest you do some precautions because alot of peeps are being scammed. Do not pay the full amount upfront and make sure you screenshot the deal and the player just in case he decides to scam you.

I paid 14k for it when I realized I have more money than I will possibly ever use and it saves me the time going after bloodfiends. It was in EP, NA server. I also paid after, since while I was trying to open the trade panel, the guy already bit me:)

Screenshotting is a good advice. Also be a bit cautious at the shrine, some people like to jump in front of you to fish away the bite.
If we are on the same server/faction and you're not in a hurry today or tomorrow I'll probably get my skill line up to 6 and can bite you.

I was lucky and got bitten by a Bloodfiend. Had I not of been bitten by now I would of paid the 20k as I'm currently lvl 30 and money is somewhat easy to come by now.

I'm playing a solo dw assassin, and the passives from the vampire skills are really good for spell resistance, self healing and stealth. Word of warning, stay away from fire!

I'm looking to buy a reasonably priced bite but It's hard not to think you're going to get scammed.

Paying for a vampire to bite you seems so incredibly stupid and wrong. It should be a mechanic that is available as an option to any player wishing to do so. Or a storyline quest where you can choose to keep it or cure it on yourself. I know it's a silly pet peeve, but it makes me cringe when I see "WTB vamp bite" in chat.

But regardless of my personal opinions on it, I've seen it go for like 30k. So, it's perfectly understandable to cash in on a dumb mechanic. I'd watch out for scams though, as this is right up their alley.

yeah scammers are not good. however nothing wrong with the mechanic. no one said you can't go and camp the rare spawn on your own and get the free bite. Better yet, it's been designed specifically to be hard to acquire and have the cool down, so people would get this rare skill tree. otherwise they could just give it to every one like the mage's guild and etc.

Selling some thing that is scarce or rare, is perfectly normal and is intended. Why don't you ask for legendary weapons to be handed out to every one? why should some one farm it/camp it and not benefit from the sale. Same here with vampire skill tree. It's not that hard to get the free bite any ways, i even help vampire guild to control vampire population so the the prices don't drop like flies to 1 gold.

Like I said, I understand why people sell it. I guess my vision of a vampire doesn't include selling their wares in such a way, so to speak. I think that's really my issue with it. They are supposed to be creatures of darkness, hiding in the shadows and not announcing their presence to the world, like a merchant would. =P

If you pay for a bite you really need to rethink being a vampire.

The mobs spawn in static places every night. No moon does not play a part. They will also respawn after a period of time if they are killed and it is still night.

The mechanic is very easy to understand. Problem is there is so much misinformation (digging for a coffin?) that makes people think it's easier to pay someone.

    Really sad to be honest.

    It's all about costs.
I'm vet 3 or 4. I make way more than 10-15k in an hour by questing and looting, why would I go and hike through the Rift camping spawns when I can get the bite in under 20 seconds?

People pay for the convenience of getting vampirism here and now. Sellers get money for their CD and skill point invested. It has nothing to do with being able to camp a spawn or not.

In the past week and a half that I've been trying to find the spawns I have not found any vampire spawns in NA Bangkorai as DC. Even hunting down the locations friends and other players have reported seeing them at.

I Think the prices of a bite will go up much more. Unless they change the game mechanics.
Add PvP loot drops for some risk/reward in this game.

Vampire bites are going for 20k from what i see advertised in zone chat on a daily bases.

I believe the price will drop as more and more people become a Vampire. In my Cyrodiil campaign, almost half the vets are vampires. Funny, i've never actually seen a Werewolf in PvP yet.

I know several AD spawns but not the other alliances. I know them because my guild found a couple and directed members who wanted a bite right to them.

The spawns are static as I watched them respawn myself. A little work can save the cost of the bite which is in my mind the real reason there is such hatred of vamps on these forums. Well besides the usual forum warriors.
  • jhaak714_ESO
i've been scouting the spots in Bangkorai people claim they spawn. I'm not saying they aren't static... but they are for damn sure not every night or if they are... there are more spawns than people know about and never at the ones I'm checking.

I got 40k for my first bite (offered, not what I asked for), but the usual number I see is 20-25k.

Be very cautious about buying bites though. A lot of people are being scammed out of their gold.
