Stamina necromancer or magicka?

Long time ago I made a necromancer (nord) character for PvP and I used to play a lot of battlegrounds with her.I always enjoyed playing as stamina having 2h frontbar/bow backbar.
I know this isn't ideal but I had fun with it.Before the cyrodiil tests I made her into a magicka necro, being a little bit more tanky wearing sellistrix, green pact and desert rose, 1h&s frontbar and lightning staff on the backbar. In Cyrodiil I found myself performing better with that build than being stamina, however in battlegrounds it was good for certain play modes like capturing relics, not so much for killing enemy players.

Now I was away from PvP for around 10 months and I know a lot has changed,I would really like to get back into it and play battlegrounds and Cyrodiil with my necro.
My question is; what you suggest I should play as stamina or magicka? And what gear is recommended now?

I really would appreciate some advices.Thank you for reading :)

Stamina necromancer is better than magicka in pvp. The changes to no proc tests though has made magicka necromancer more viable - the issue is they have an unreliable burst skill vs Stamina necromancer.

My experience with both classes is limited.

I did fairly well with a mag one but I must admit the build was grossly based on proc sets: my dog would get kills too using procs.
Out of the proc meta I was utterly crap and I must admit most of the non proc MagCros I’ve fought were not shining at all with no procs. Obviously there are still many great players who will do well regardless.

StanCros were amazing in the proc meta....lots of kills using green and blue gear with random traits. I’ve noticed I’m also doing well with no procs.
Stamina is still stronger than mag imo and that makes a huge difference.

    My main suggestions:
1.if you love the sound of magcros just play it and see
2.if you are good PvPer you’ll do well regardless but the mag version will give you a good run for your money

Stamcro is next to Stamden and MagSorc the strongest PvP spec.

Played both and I gotta Stamcro is much easier to learn and play but Magcro is stronger than Stamcro if you know what you're doing. Resist flesh healing potential is through the roof in Flames of Ambition and Stalking Blastbones can nuke players easily for more than 10k+. So yeah Necromancer is really powerful regardless of spec but for me Magcro edges out Stamcro.

2h stamcro because it is completely balanced.... most balanced class in the game and requires a lot of skill to play

Ok well I guess I will need to try then,as in cyrodiil proc sets are not fully working right now mytical items do not either so no need of band of brutality.

I've been playing Magcro since it was released and I still love it.
It's got exceptional PvE performance in all roles, like you can top tier tank dps or heal.

For PvP it can feel unruly to learn and theory craft for.

They're really really good support healers in PvP I'm surprised I don't see more of them running around to be honest.
We have access to solid burst heals, a couple ways to remove negative affects self & group, the class ultimates are perfect, good damage mitigation, Near-Death Experience passive combined with Restoration Expert gives extremely powerful healing when allies drop below 30% health, plus free group healing abilities are really nice. I genuinely think they're on par or better than templars for support healing in PvP just saying...

DPS/Direct combat they're a lot harder to play, someone mentioned the unreliable burst damage that's definitely been an issue for this class, I think with the changes this patch it won't be as much as an issue but this is the style I've been playing.
They play well as DPS/Support class in groups too.

I leveled up and played a stamina necro too, it plays just like all the other stam characters dswing execute.

Imo its about ur playstyle. Stam is better up close and magicka is better at range (typically)

Prior to Flames of Ambition, I'd say Stamina Necromancer hands down, especially if playing solo. And in Cyrodiil that's really still true; Magicka Necromancer with a very limited selection of purely stat-based sets has pretty trashy offense, though should still be able to be a decent healer.

If you're playing in BGs and/or IC, I'd say that Stamina Necromancer is overall still probably better, but it's possible for Magicka Necromancers to utilize certain "proc" sets and get some really absurd damage from any Stalking Blastbones that doesn't get countered (including the "counters" that happen because of bugs and/or bad AI). Things like Perfected Master Staff, that new set that increases pet (Blastbones) damage, the Succession or Clever Alchemist sets, etc...can make Blastbones damage get pretty silly.
