Idea for lighting in Houses

Can we please get adjustable general lighting levels for houses? I want a really dark cave-like lighting for the Dwarven ruin idea I want to make but it's lit like a department store even without the lights and no visible point of light entry. Some houses are ridiculously dark even when the sun is streaming in through giant windows.

I want a Dwemer Switch! :D

Thanks for reading.

I agree in principle but I doubt we'll ever get this.

Can't offer you a solution for houses being too bright.

But if you're finding them too dark a "Clockwork Illumator, Solitary Capsure" light (blue crated furnishing) clipped in the floor or ceiling will up the ambient lighting over a big area and barely be noticeable. It just provides a very natural light, things like the two Culanda Stone lights work too but they're extremely bright at the source of the light and.... I just don't like them tbh.

I actually like it very much that it's so dark in the houses. This is realistic for buildings without electric lights and without large windows with glass. Some houses used to have no windows at all because they weren't well insulated either and you could leave the cold (or heat) outside. You can also arrange the light sources much better this way, or its is more interesting, I think.

From a practical standpoint though, with the slot limitations, you don’t want to have to add dozens upon dozens of lighting furnishings.

The new houses are getting much better at this, though.

Indeed, I do add dozens upon dozens of candles and lighting furnishings and it does not bother me although we have the slot limitation. On the contrary, for me it is the most interesting part, to create the right "mood".

I find the homes to be too bright inside. Rooms that have no windows or other means for daylight to get in really ought to be dark.

I'm thinking particularly of Amaya Lake storeroom, the basement of the Anvil lighthouse in the Enchanted Snow Globe, the interior of Mournoth Keep, and every other place I have tried to build a dark and spooky residence for a Vampire or DB Silencer.

I know this is computer graphics, and the laws of physics don't actually apply, so how about the devs provide us with some "anti-lights" that reduce the light level in an area.
