no burst + no procs = no kills

I think I have come to the conclusion of why proc sets are so popular. It really is the builds that do not have a good class burst or weapon burst that need the proc sets to get kills. I mean seriously try and put together a dot build in the current cyrodiil with one spamable and no burst and see if you get any kills. Class dots are laughable damage and useless if they do not provide some sort of buff or debuff. If they really want to make proc sets go away provide more burst to all the builds or make dots mean something.

Yes, I did post this in another forum but I thought it probably was better here.

Umm yes you can. Very easy actually, seen any Magplar the last days? If they hit, they hit to kill, same for Magsorc Burst and Stamblade surprise attack. They all hit to kill without any Procs needed, and they do murder people like nothing. If you can't get kills without Procs, then the problem is certainly not the absence of them.

I agree with this and would add that Stamdens and Stamcros seem to have plenty of burst as well. The Shalks/Blastbones, Dawny, Executioner combo was lighting people up last night during the couple hours I was in Cyrodiil at prime time.

You just listed a bunch of classes that have burst damage. I think op was talking about stuff like mdk. Like whats the line up for burst on a mdk? Magic templars get away with their execute but mdk literally only has DoTs for anything other than whip. There is no one two punch with a mdk and there is no execute. Now take a mdk with an extra 4k damage per seconds from procs and you can kill things.

@Veg Magplar can actually put out some serious DoT pressure with Jabs, yes I count them as DoT as the CP did too, Flare, reflective Light/Vampires Bane and Entropy, pair with a Jesus beam at the end and you are dead.

ya they have an execute and better damage stacks than a mdk. But for a mdk, whats the line up? like what do you do to get a frame of burst damage? the best you can do is have an ult go off and get your 1-3k damage from dots. How does this class compete with a everyone else in terms of getting kills?

It looks like op was suggesting the mdk class when he referred to only having DoTs and a basic spammable with no execute.

This is not accurate. Maybe, IF you're playing a magBlade. There are plenty of players landing kills in the no-proc set test cycle. Or maybe when you build into too much health or defenses in the no-proc set test cycle, then you may find yourself in a pickle situation and hitting like a wet noodle. The OP does address issues how many players are still adjusting to the no-proc test cycle since they've been carried through fights with proc sets. Hope time passes fast for them.
