I find it odd that folks come in here and tell you not to PvP with Magplar because it's bad or not "meta". Take the suggestions you have gotten and try them for yourself. Here's my non-meta, sub-par old school Magplar build that does just fine solo. Skill has more to do with gameplay than a copy/paste build from some website.

    I STILL use:

    DW/SnB

    5 Heavy Shacklebreaker
    5 Bright Throat
    2 Balorgh
    2 Potentates

It works fine solo and completely wrecks people that copied a "meta" build from some website.

Know anymore dw/shield builds? They look cool. I hate having a stick on my magplar and magdk

    I’ve been doing:
    Dark elf
    5 crafty afliq
5 light of cyrodiil front bar
    2 skoria
    2 potentates

    Yeah

    5 Ancient Dragonguard
    5 New Moon
    2 either Chudan or Bloodspawn
    2 Potentates

Another good set up that doesn't take advantage of "clever use of game mechanics" cheese crap meta builds.

Which food/mundas/jewerly traits&glyphs? I try to get to like 2k magicka regen. Also is the that heavy armor or light armor?

The answer to these questions depends on many things. I use witchmothers with this set up because I want to have fun without breaking the bank.

Heavy/Light (in my opinion) depends upon your skill level. I use 5/2 heavy because I'm not very good and like to stay in fights as long as possible.

Mundus, traits and glyphs all depend on skill level and personal preference. I us 2 tri-glyphs and 5 mag glyphs an armor with 5 impen. and 2 sturdy.

Jewels I run all infused with 1 recovery and 2 SD.

But again, that's just me. There are many people out there that are way better than I am but this is what works for me.

    Thanks for the info :)

Feel free to friend me on PC/NA if thats where you are. @Stridig
I'll share any information I have to help you out. If you like being a mediocre player anyway. Unless your AD. Then I'll share crap builds with you. Lol
    Just kidding. I wouldn't.

Don't bother with magplar for solo play. The class lacks so many things to properly shine in such contexts. Your best bet is to stack as many procs as you can and rely on mistform to stay alive while your procs are on cooldown. People suggesting to try stat based magplar builds saying it "works fine" have sadly no clue about what they're talking about. Or they play on a platform/server that are 3-4 patches behind the actual "meta".

My best advice is to either change class, or find someone/others to group up with. While magplar isn't the first class I'd bring for a duo-small group, it's still ok in group scenarios.

Don't listen to console players. PC / ey has much stronger players with strong builds.

Really? I’d love for you to defend this statement with any sort of facts. There is no such thing as a “stronger build” on PC. You have access to the same equipment and skills.

As for stronger players, that’s purely speculation. You most likely have a stronger system and some add ons, but console players have been dealing with zero add-ons for half a decade at this point. The top level players on each are both world class. The potatoes on PC may be a bit stronger due to add-ons but even that’s debatable.

Console and pc have different metas.
We on pc(EU) don't care about stats as much right now due to procsets.
The build you have listed here really only functions aganist one or two players at best, which is fine, not everyone has to be a a 1vxer.
As for who's better, pc EU has been consistently ahead of the meta curve for a very long time, we have the most amount of players across all regions and platforms, so that's not surprising ofc.
Hakkani is on pc EU, and just like me spends most of his time fighting brick wall 40k hp, max hp regen, proc builds.
So you can kinda imagine why he doesn't think your 11k dampen wouldnt hold up aganist builds that can easily line up 20k++ burst procs while being next to unkillable.

Ive been playing this game since launch, and to me it seems like console players love to flex their Stat sheet, unfortunately in the current meta it really doesn't mean much, I wish it did.

I’ve always done well in my plar without damage procs. He’s been a stat proc plar for years.

You log in, and first of all make sure you leave any group you might be in. Remember this is a solo guide.

Open up your friends or guild list. Keep in mind you will need to be a solo Magplar at this point for best results, otherwise you won't be able to join another group. Join/start a group.

That's the best you can do on a solo Magplar these days, I just saved you all a lot of time figuring that out so run with it.

Or get good enough to make it possible knowing you would do better/easier on another class.

This is my suspicion as well. I run a high magicka shielding, stat-based magden on PC EU, because I rarely play that character and don't keep up with the meta. It is not great, unlike a few years ago. Granted magden lacks that tasty execute, but I also think immovability potions are not sufficent to cover stamina requirements unless DKEXPERIENCE goes into Mist Form or runs Meditate or something else he hasn't yet mentioned.

LOL. I’ve been playing ESO since PC beta, and on console since console beta. When I got to level 10 I went right into VR Cyrodiil and have spent 99.99% of my PVP time on the main CP server.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

I was running mist form 5 years ago before it was cool. No, I don’t run it any longer. I’m in no way giving inaccurate info.

You just need to be willing to try.

Go look at my half decade plus post history if you want. I’ve been running weird builds the whole time. Some of them work. Some of them don’t. This one does.

Lastly, I’m not in any way saying it will make you Superman. Just that this is how you spec out a Magplar to melt faces. I use every trick in the book from invisibility to range to jumping to LOS to YOLO to using meat shields to survive. It’s called experience and I have a lot of it.

Edit - what stamina requirements? I have exactly one stamina ability and it’s rapids. I don’t use stamina in battle at all except to quickly block. I’m definitely not sprinting in battle as a Magplar, that’s just dumb. All of my stamina is saved up for 3 dodge rolls. Magic toons don’t need more than that. Sounds like you guys need better stamina management.

If you want to try and x this meta run procs. The biggest issue a magplar has is getting off their back bar to go offensive while severely outnumbered. This has always been an issue for magplar, but they used to have the burst to punish opponents. The nerf to purifying light as well as burning light and the cast-time on crescent have all impacted magplars negatively. You stack all of that with lower crit chance on a class whose passives have 10% more crit damage as well as a higher health meta and you have class that's a shell of what it was a year ago.

I've ran a few stat based setups this patch and although the healing and survival is good the damage overall is lacking compared to other specs. It's just not efficient right now to try and x without at least a proc set. I would love to go back to running a stat based build, but after beating my head against a wall for a few weeks the nerfs to the class have me caving on it.

It's still a class I love in small scale outnumbered but solo you're a bit hamstrung by what the class provides compared to other specs.

Sets like crimson or trickery is what I'd back bar. Then vateshrans destro, overwhelming surge, aurorans, icy conjuror etc are other sets i'd consider. Overwhelming isn't the most damage, but it's got a nice 2-4 piece bonus and the 5 is a nice blend of sustain and pressure. it gives quite a bit as far as a set goes.
