First of all, this post is here instead of players helping players because I think this is where players go first to complain about pvp. Hopefully this post can save some devs and mods some time. 
Do you need help defeating a specific build? Do you die every time a player wolf's out? Leave a comment below detailing your issue so that I or another skilled pvp'er can give you advice that may help you defeat your adversary.

hexentb16_ESO✭✭✭✭A few things I'd like you to think about before posting.
1. Some who complain about specific builds focus too much on their strengths. Before commenting I want you to think about that build's weaknesses instead.
2. Are you using all the bare necessities? DO NOT go full dps in pvp. If you do you WILL be squishy. You must accept this fact. If you wish to be successful in pvp you must also use survival abilities and CCs. I see a lot of complaints about OP builds and sets that really aren't a problem if you have a cleanse on your backbar...or even if you just put a little more focus on self heals.2 -

Second: i doubt any good/experienced player will help here with some questions from new player, since they wont look in here and i can not really take you seriously, when you call yourself an experienced player while running 15k resistances, purge and proc sets and doing statements like „building fully in one direction (like procs) makes your build lack other things etc.
Anyway lets just assume you are experienced and stuff...so my question:
What do i do against a stamina warden using sets like malubeth, crimson twilight, clever alchemist or maybe syvarras scales or vate 2h together with malacaths band of brutality.
He has dots via syvarras and burst with shalks, dizzy and vate 2h while having that amplified by malacath. His heals are very strong with major
Mending, major vitality and arctic blast as health based heal. Also he has major expedition with falcons swiftness.
Lets assume i have a decent magplar build with decent offensive stats, malacaths, a healing proc set and vate destro as offensive proc additional to decent spelldamage/max magicka.0 -

For all builds: walk outside/block the crimson proc and get your defensive hots up when he uses sub assault (vigor, living dark, rapid regen, shields, etc) block right after the first dizzying swing hits you, making him not able to stun you with a medium attack or second dizzy swing or dawnbreaker and do a defensive stun while blocking if you have one. He will now be on the defensive and will probably recast his defensive buffs and heal himself up, in this time cast your dots and keep pressure on him, dont try to burst him down as that wont work at this point of time. If you have enough pressure he will have to los to regain the offense. Rinse and repeat this strategy untill he runs out of resources or you are able to line up a good burst or keep pressuring him into a burst to kill him. (You will most likely not be able to kill him, but he wont be able to kill you either.) Another point, if hes using clever alchemist he is most likely running immovability pots and if he is running crimson, it means he has little to no magicka sustain meaning that if he keeps using arctic blast, he will eventually run out of magicka to heal himself as long as you block his crimson.
Now if you are a magplar, cleanse effects if hes using dots, block when hes trying to burst you down, literally telegraphed by his sub assault. Keep vateshran staff up keeping him under pressure. Probably not possible to kill a 40k hp warden solo on a magplar as it does not have any good burst abilities, purifying light is weak, jabs are a bit weak, crescent sweep sucks. So your best strategy is to try to wear him out by keeping pressure on him 100% of the time.
And remember, experienced players wont fight experienced players as they wont get good fights that way.2 -

Also i fairly know how to deal with stamdens, but thx for refreshing my memory.
My point though is, that some classes just do not really have weaknesses anymore when built right (OP wanted people to think about it) and some encounters are pretty unmatched. The whole thing is an example.
Also trying to drain a well built stamden is very hard. He can regain magicka with other sources than tripots, if he wants to.Edited by FirmamentOfStars on 2 February 2021 11:390 -

You're facing a class and build with great sustain, damage, tankiness and healing that unless the stamden gets so bored they fall asleep at the keyboard, you have no chance of winning.Jaisins -AD Stamsorc. A stam dk should always win the CC battle vs magplar.
The trick with fossilize is to know when to spam it on cooldown and when to save it for when your opponent is loaded with debuffs or has otherwise made a mistake with their rotation or timing.
A magplar needs to apply 3 setup-abilities before toppling to secure kills on the average opponent--degen, ele weakness, purifying light. Only 1 of these applies pressure IF vat ele is equipped... if magplar has no vat ele, then none of these 3 abilities actually apply any pressure.
Trade noxious / venom claw / rending for these 3 debuffs. Your 3 debuffs actaully apply immediate pressure, while magplar does not.
At this point Magplar wants to toppling you so they can actually start putting in real damage. Block the toppling (it'll be super obvious and will usually come right after purifying) and then apply fossilize.
At this point you have 3 dots + poison status probably ticking on the fossilize and magplar will go on the defensive.
If they purge, reapply dots, keeping track of your own CC immunity to block the next toppling.
If they don't purge, continue to apply spammable pressure.
Every time you trade debuffs with magplar, block his toppling, then apply fossilize, you win a bit of the battle.
Most magplars will crumble after 2-3 of these exchanges, if you have leap or corrosive up on the first fossilize you'll probably kill them.

✭Thanks for the tips @HiImRex, I'll keep that in mind. MagPlars have always had my number and this new triple beam attack is really tough (Zaan + Vat + Radiant).
