When I used to run a guild there were a few occasions where people muted each other because they couldn't stand one another.
For the most part it wasn't an issue, however I tried to mediate a better way regardless (rarely worked).

One of my guildmasters spams the guild's discord server with an @ everyone every time they start streaming, so I had to mute the entire announcements channel
The guild member in question was aggressive in their descriptions of non-consensual relationships in guild chat. I did not want to read about that disgusting topic in guild conversations so I put the person on the ignore list.
i was in a social guild for some time, and the higher ups of the guild would put people that they didn’t like on ignore in voice coms all the time. it got pretty uncomfortable, because they wouldn’t tell the person before they muted them.
Whenever I come across people having a private conversation in guild chat spamming inane drivel that's of absolutely no interest to anyone but themselves.
I have never put anyone on ignore, because I have never had to. But I would not hesitate if listening to someone's blather took away my enjoyment of the game. Far better to just not hear them, than reach a point where to snap back and make an issue of it.
It is your game. You pay for it. If you want to hit the ignore button, it is your business and nobody else's. Only exception to that of course would be if you are in trial or dungeon with the, then of course ignore would be detrimental to the group.
