Not sure why it says regardless for the yes answer. Is that to say I'll buy it regardless of whether they suck or not? I will buy the khajiit because I want a khajiit in my home but the others don't interest me. If they ever have m'aiq as a houseguest I be sure to get that too.

I'm not currently interested, but I'm not a huge housing person. I do a bit with it from time to time. However, I definitely see the appeal to filling up your house with a bit of life. I'd like to see more guests with functionality, even if it's minor things. However, if they keep the price at or around 1000 crowns per guest, they should sell well enough.

I'm torn because I want to collect them all, but at the same time, I really don't like what they are "wearing" and can't see myself using them because of this. Since they don't seem to be a limited time purchase, I think I'll bide my time on these two.

I would love it if they at least let us change their costume to something we have already purchased for ourselves.

Yes, but not this second. I'll buy it through a crown seller when the rush dies down a bit. Crown sellers are slammed I'm sure.

I agree with this and would even expand upon it.

Sell me a "blank". Let me customize the appearance fully. Let me put clothes and outfits from my collection on them. Let me name them, path them and apply emotes I have unlocked.

You don't have to sell me 85 different guests, just 1 fully customizable one that I can buy many, many times.

No. I don't like the fact that they take up pet/mount slots.
No. I don't like the fact that they offer no function outside of walking around. My bank and merchant got that covered.
No. I don't like the fact we can not change their outfits.
No. I don't think 15 bucks for the cat is worth it, especially because it offers no function.

Create NCP's that are our characters or characters from a significant others linked account, then yes.
Create NPC's that have functionality like offering some kind of daily quest, or crafting quests, then yes.
If either of the two above mentioned are 5000 crowns (50 bucks) then no.

I like the Khajiit houseguest but it would cost me crowns so I won’t get it.

It seems like in order to keep up with the Joneses in ESO housing that you have to be willing to sink a lot of real life money into your house or take a chance with a crown seller. I wish it didn’t have to be this way.

There wasn’t an option in this poll that really fit — definitely buy the Khajiit but not personally interested in the Nord guard (I think he’s a good houseguest option, just not for me).

Maybe I should have selected the option about seeing their interactions first? I had already looked up Biro-dar and found him amusing and I like Khajiit.

I’m quite happy with him! I’ve just played around with the pathing a bit to see what it could do and it looks like he’s making careful record of my treasures, perhaps planning a grand heist!

This seems to be a yes or no question. It could be a Yes (buying both, or just one, and a no, but the current answers offering of what is essentially 3 "no" answers, a regardless (of something) and a maybe does not seem to fit.

I bought the Biro-dar house guest, I have to admit I'm slightly disappointed with him now. He doesn't seem to have a useful role for me. He seems to be a guest you invited for a few days to stay and now has set up home! I became very used to the assistants Ezabi, Nuzimeh and Tythis I've bought and use. It actually took me a while to get used to seeing them moving about when I'd ported into a property I'd placed them in. It HAS brought our homes to life, they have a kind of soul now. I've collected a plethora of non combat pets, of mounts etc over the six years I've been playing and had great fun with the pathing option especially the speed setting. (Dogs really do run up stairs IRL) Back on to the topic in hand. I might stlll buy the Nord Guard to place in the grounds of my Antiquarian's Alpine Gallery and Hakkvild's High Hall. I saw a Tavern serving lady (I suspect she's kick ass, say the wrong thing and that mead is over your head!) on the PTS, I would be happy to buy her!

I would prefer houseguests to interact with objects like sitting, with crafting stations and have dialogue options or even goodies for us like the dark brotherhood npc in outlaw refuges. A random cooking recipe once per day, a lead, a survey, potions, drinks, food.

No. Neither of them seem fit for purpose.

The guard is not a commanding presence. A bit of a dozy, milk-drinker in fact. And who employs one guard anyway, who's going to watch his back? I'd want him in better armour than that as well, and wearing my personal livery.

The cat is a sleaze. I would feel uncomfortable with him living on the same continent, let alone in my home. He'd probably sell all my precious possessions and then turn it into a brothel.

This one would love it if Biro-dar gave random treasure items he "found". Harmless fun, yes?

I will buy Jorn - although I would have preferred a nameless guard that you could place multiple times, to be honest.

I might hold off on Biro-Dar though, as my banker fills his role of "Someone with a book" enough, and he's more expensive...

I got Jorn because I need guard for my house, however I did not get the Khajiit. Jorn doesn't talk much but I only talk to the house guest for the first 5 minutes and never again. I have limited amount of crowns so 800 versus 1500 the choice was easy.

P.S. Any ETA on the barmaid house guest?

Yes. I asked for NPCs in our houses and (probably only because they saw it in some other game, well, hearthfire for instance) they delivered.

Biro Dar only. He has personality. He fits right in with my clowder of cats. I have limited special slots, so, that's it. I also would like to have my Alt characters as house guests - asked for that a long time ago too. I hope some other game does it so they copy it.

I got them because even though they count against my special furnishing limit, I have so many houses (50ish), I will find a place for them. I also collect everything so it makes sense I would get them. Especially since the only thing my gold goes to is crown exchanges because I farm my own gear, mats, motifs etc. I still have yet to place them though, as it was more of a situation where I got them just to have them.

I'm torn. On one hand house guests offer creative possibilities for stories and guild games in houses etc, on the other hand the system of pathing is young and I cannot really make house guests do what I want them to do yet (interact with furniture, use emotes I can use...)
And I'm picky about who I let into my houses. That antiquarian Phaedre? I cannot stand her attitude.
So I'll take my time and invite only house guests I know I'm gonna like.

I got Biro-Dar today, he has personality and charisma to be guest, I like that's he secretly a thief that pretend to be historian like Phedre, works great in team with Pirharri, now I think about purchase Ezabi and Fezez and make criminal band in Sleek Creek House.
But all this dreams broken by the fact that's even big 700 slots houses have only 10 slots for pets, mounts, assistants and now guests too, why not make guests use "guest" limit used by players?

Also about guest preview in crownstore, it's would be good if when selected guest saying some phrases because now it's more like purchase of simple furnishing, not much better than Soul-Shriven, Robed or skeleton target dummy, but ZOS pose guest like something more than this.

    BTW
I don't see any application for Jorn he can't guard, my Murkmire plant traps do better job then Jorn, he has just few phrases he cannot be interesting interlocutor, Its would be much better if he actually was a guard that can arrest players like NPC guards do, just copy of existing NPC is that's so hard to be done?

House guests should be acquaintances we meet in game. Your character does some amazing feat and an NPC decides hey I'd like to hang out at this person/lizard/cat. Rescue someone and they feel they have a debt to repay?

I need merchants for my outdoor bazaar and I have crowns from ESO+ but I don't want to just purchase people/cats/lizards so they will on occasion hang out with me.

    Not interested in house guests
Until they increase the special collectibles limit or make them their own category, I have no interest in house guests.

Just like I have no interest in mounts (last mount I purchased was the first darwen spider, for the novelty of it) because they always appear in Saddles.

And I like my pets, and 10 in my Notable houses is already way too few.

I could have made an exception for the Antiquarian house, if it was a Notable house, but since it's not, no house guests for me.

    Plus, I already have 4 assistants ;)
