New to nightblade: question regarding detection

Hey everyone. So I'm new to running a stealth build in Cyrodiil and I deal with a common issue. Maybe someone can help me understand it so I can avoid it.

I quite often get stuck in detected. In home keeps. In enemy keeps. Out in the world. I'm not talking about detection pots or skills which can pop me out of combat.

For example. Let's say I snipe someone 30+ meters away. I'll try to hide but I'll be stuck in detected, forcing me to spam invisible. 20+ seconds will pass until finally the eye will cost. And no one is remotely near me.

Is there something I'm missing? Any help is appreciated

Its a small issue with how detection and stealth works in the game. There are two really easy ways to work with it, but please keep in mind neither are guarantees.

One, crouch and uncrouch. As silly as it seems,it can in some instances reset the detection formula the game uses. This is most useful if it is the type of issue where the eye closes, then instantly springs back open.

Two, gain distance from the source of detection. In your example with snipe, try to get 50+meters away. What may be keeping you locked i to the detected state is active combat (even though it doesn't always, signaling to me it isn't intentional). This can be useful in conjunction with the above step.

If you can manage to do it, porting is a great way to do both steps at once. Transitus to another keep you own often resets this issue.

Sorry I can't give you a magic bullet, but hopefully this helps a little.

I carry invis pots for this issue. I find if I can't get my eye to close, even when out in the middle of nowhere, I use an invis pot and it usually fixes it.

I'll have to try the crouch/un-crouch method...
