4 weeks with AOE tests, the simple conclusion is that the lag was as bad as usual when the server was full (Grat Host PC/EU). In addition the combat was not fun with the iomposed restrictions.

I mean it would be nice if we can just get an honest “we don’t know how to fix the lag” statement. It’s been obvious for years, but some honesty would help.

You have to consider the additional impact of instrumentation on the server as well as the player behaviour changes.
The test isn't over and lets hope that ZOS gives us some good summaries with well considered info on it and also will reply to questions and feedback rather than just being a 1 off 'here's what we did' summary.

It probaly all has to do with money. Less expendures means better books meaning a bigger deal when selling.

Streamlining the calculations for AOE to reduce load on the server seemed like a worthwhile change to try out. You don't always know for sure whether a change is going to reach the intended performance outcome or not.

    But I get the disappointment.

Id rather quit than try and play with some of the iterations of the aoe tests.

Yeah true although there’s several things on paper that seem like good ideas. Which is funny because it was today or yesterday where I seen that according to studies 88 percent of spread sheets have errors.

But I don’t want to bash zos, I just think transparency is a much better route and the suggested changes aren’t too great. Next thing you know multiple types of skills will have cool downs, so let’s stop it before it starts.

Sum up is the lag in Cyrodiil is not going away.

This was true in 2015 and never stopped since.
