So you grab the scroll, you cant mount... why is that? When asked in beta the devs replied they wanted opposing teams to be able to chase down the scroll and that any abilities speeding up the player carrying the scroll would be suspended, this included all but the alliance skill line speed boost. I loved this answer... let the chases begin.. fun right
What is actually happening?
Small Vampire groups of 2-3 are hiding, snatching the scroll with no contest from the NPCs as they wisk away and constantly spam their forms to speed away at greater than mount speeds, by the time you know the scroll is taken it is to late. Your gate is shut so yeah get to the gate right? Nope, they can circumvent this is well easily apparently.
In PvP I love the chase, running someone down who has the scroll to me is just a hair more fun than being under siege. However when no matter the speed of your mounts, how much sprinting you do, vampires on your side exploiting their speed (while not carrying the scroll), you have no chance of catching these vampires carrying the scroll.
So what do we do, our side decides to now do the same thing and on my horse I cant even keep up with our vamp (who is carrying the scroll), my mount is 33% speed now and he left all but the vamps with him in the dust and even some of the lower rank vamps too.
If the devs original statement on why those with the scroll couldnt mount in beta holds true then shouldnt vampire players also have to walk/run on foot like the rest of us who carry the scroll. I left our group carrying the scroll, as did most of us when we lost site of our vamp. How people can call this fun from either side I dont know, I sure dont.
Keep in mind I am not bitching about vamps vamps exploiting their speed to break holds and get away almost every time youre kicking their butt, they are vampires after all, just like I expect a werewolf to do some damage on me, however the scrolls are extremely mystic items and I 100% agree with the original statement the devs made that those carrying the scroll do it by foot so they must be guarded and can possibly be caught.
Am I alone in this?
