So I wanted a build that can heal, do a lot of AoE damage, do a lot of single-target damage...

So I rolled a sorc.

Did you become a vampire as well so that you could steamroll a dozen people at a time?

Ah yes, the Jack of all trades but master of none. Nightblade is the best Single target damage, Dragonknight has the best survivability, and Templar is unmatched for support abilities. Sorc is good when you want to do a mixture of anything though, but the better Sorcs will specialise for their role, i.e Single target DPS Sorcs will use Resto staff as their damage weapon (because of 10% extra damage passive), whereas Healing sorcs will have an entire bar dedicated to healing and abilities to enhance it.
