I have personally been messing around with the ring of the wild hunt (full swift and steed) easily hit max move speed out of combat either sprinting or with major ex, require both in combat but can still cap. the idea being I wont GET hit if they CANNOT hit.

drop'd 1 monster piece and now just slot a 1 piece of whatever I feel I need, speed goes good with the immovable alchemist striker I played anyway, pop pot, sprint in, burst a target or two, kite away and repeat. still run full impen but with changes considering switching to full well fitted, don't really have stam issues but roll dodge will help counter malcath band users were impen falls flat.

feel it needs a lot of investment though and kind of wanted to try out the new prismatic regens on infused but if im stacking speed kind of want to go all the way.

on an aside I enjoy finally being able to chase down or run from streaking mag sorcs, been really fun being able to deal with the ez mode.

I dont have the expansion, but seems to me the 15% speed boost will start a new speed build meta. Recall "swift" used to be 10% so that two of them would be 20% boost.

However the boots that take away snares/immob might be good too.

But it means as you noted you either lose a monster set, or you lose a full set bonus of something.

The 25% weapon damage ring might work for some builds that already have low weapon crit, eg tankier builds. For example a heavy armor fury type build often has low weapon crit, someone will do the math to see at what point loss of crit is more than compensated by 25% boost.

yeah its why I figured nerfs for mythics are coming, as the ring essentially reintroduces old swift, however it might be considered balanced around the loss of other stats, but iirc they nerf'd swift under the guise of "our engine cannot handle combat at that speed" or some such.

not a fan of snow treaders to be honest, the lack of sprint just means you are free of snares when you die, especially in a patch where move speed just went up, its use case is just to narrow.

same problem I have with the torc, you want it for regen but It only works when low on resources, so you slot it as your only regen? so that hopefully your low on resources all the time and can take advantage of it.

that's just too anecdotal for me, long time pvp'ers can "feel" their build after just a few combats, if a regen is too low, if its too high, how there healing is, what they can shift around. having an item mess with that feel is rough, you feel like your low on resources, then you feel fine, or maybe you get low and it kicks in but you die, maybe your regen is too "high" to take advantage of it consistently. its also not a "for 4 seconds" effect. its WHEN your low, regen is on a 2 second interval, you might get burst before you ever see the effect.

that's just annoying.

However, PvP populations have been very low. To me it means the serious PvPers are out there grinding to get the new best gear. Eg if they are using Maelstrom or master's weapons they will want that extra stat. I went into vMA last night for the first time in a long time, but it was too depressing to do that again. Been there done that. I'll probably drag myself back.

But I can't see doing all that digging etc.

The changes to PvP open up a lot of new possibilities even with the old gear to try stuff.

I enjoyed the antiquities system at first. Then I realized I was making it too hard on myself. It was fun until I learned you can use the 3 options at the top for scrying; then I felt it was so easy, it’s basically cheating.

I haven’t had time to test them yet. I really like the idea around the boots but the race against time skill is so overloaded, it makes them not as necessary.
I envision everyone will go for either the chest piece to tank in Cyrodiil of the speed ring to try and cheese the server.

I've been trying Malacaths Band on a new mDK build considering Crit rate is as low as 30% in NoCP, damage output is good and even managed to take down a few players with it but this patch problem is defence and healing. Specially in NoCP, with 60% healing reduction and Nerf of Bloodspawn, light armour builds are at a greater disadvantage. Balancing power with sustain and defence all together is proving to be hard.
IMO mythic items are bringing a few new fun ways to play specifically in PvP but at the same time at what cost? Sustain? Damage? Defence? Or any combination of these...only time will tell.

I got the Ring of Wild Hunt tonight. It does not seem to apply when mounted, which was very disappointing. I guess it makes you as fast on your feet as when mounted, which might have some niche uses (harvesting nodes in a very tight area?), but I mostly wanted the ring to ride from place to place really fast. It will probably just end up in my bank and never get used. It is faster to mount up and ride where I need to go, especially since it takes much longer to run out of stamina when mounted and it is easier to not aggro mobs when mounted.

malacath is very good in no-cp

wild hunt is very good for solo Cyro on any class

snow-something can be good on magden, who have strong expedition buff but no snare removal

But i will be running either the Wild Hunt Ring or the Band of Brutality Ring on every single build. Depending on wether i lack damage or speed. As i play in NO CP exclusively there is not a single build option that will be superior. These two items provide so much value that i find it hard to make anything that does not include one of them, without being suboptimal.

IMO, strongest option is boots + medium armor running evasion with S&B back bar. Lets you make good use of block and you’re basically always getting major expedition. Allows you to slot rally as a burst rather than keep front bar a damage set, then have a 5 piece always, and you can run either an arena set or run an arena weapon front bar and back bar the full 5 piece.

yes, its only worth it in no cp.

people are trying to make a case for massive impen stacking but even then its a hard case to make, but hey, its an option.

even they tend to run torc, as its easy to dump off resource with dark deal and profit from a constant 450 regen

I actually switched off the ring and am going to try snow treaders later tonight when pvp calms down, I was getting used to the massive move speed to the point that anything else felt slow, and I don't want to build around or start crutching on such a niche item.
