Question about volatile familiar

Does unsummoning/toggling off the ability cause the scamp to explode, or does it only explode when killed by enemies? Seems like it could serve as a nice nuke to send the scamp in then hit the toggle off to blow it up.

yup it explodes when you toggle it off/ I use it for a huge aoe nuke when the situation calls for it.
