Wandered into quest area, marked complete - will I miss out on this quest?

I was out foraging for materials and I noticed a melee involving several players and enemies. It was cool to watch, so I wandered closer ( assuming I was too far away to actually help out before it ended). As I got closer, the players prevailed. Then a quest message flashed on my screen saying I had completed the quest - just because I was in the same area.
Now I'm annoyed. If the quest is marked complete, then I don't get to do it, right? Is there a way to 're-open' a quest? I want to try it myself (it's a good one I think, with a boss fight at the end)

LariahHunding✭✭✭✭Sure it wasn't just a mini-boss, an achievement not a quest. If it was a quest, which one.

Vavictus✭It may have been an anchor, I know with those if you're in the same area I believe you can get credit for it being defeated. I may be wrong though. Otherwise you'll probably have to be a little more descriptive for anyone to help you out.~~Vavictus~~

misterme2011✭✭Thanks. It happened when I went into The Wolf's Camp, though in my journal I do not yet have the Faolchu's Bane achievement. I did do complete the quest in the cave with the vision of Faolchu. It was after this that I wandered into the camp while watching the melee0

misterme2011✭✭I went back to the Wolf's Camp today and the enemies respawned, so I'm not sure what message I saw originally. I got slaughtered so I'll wait a bit before retrying0
