Healing NB

Has anyone thought about using the restoration staff as a NB? I'm just curious because I tend to play two separate characters one as a "healer" and the other "dps/sneaky" now that you can "blend" roles I'm wondering if this might be anywhere near viable? I know it wouldn't be as strong as a sorcerer healer, but it might make an interesting "backup" healer. Thoughts?

If at the very least it'd add some flavor... I might end up going with it just for that. I mean who expects a NB to whip out a restoration staff amIright?

A Nightblade in light armor with a restoration staff and the proper morphs in the siphon tree actually makes a fantastic healer. I would argue better than a Templar.

I find that I prefer the resto staff as a weapon, so all my classes use it. I'm still working out secondary weapon. And yes a nightblade can make a really good healer, although I prefer the dps role and then act as a secondary healer, cause I have difficulty in handling the healing role properly.

I've been playing healing NB exclusively, it works out very well. But, at VR1 I still haven't figured out which 2nd weapon I want to use.

I've been playing lately with dual wield with restoration as my 2ndary and I'm liking it quite a bit actually. I can fill either the dps role or the healing role. It's also nice because if I am filling the dps role I can occasionally drop a heal if needed into the group. Granted I'm only sitting at level 20 atm, but it seems to be working out quite well so far. It's nice to be able to play this type of rogue/healing hybrid and actually be effective.

i'm 34, and i've been pondering this myself, i've reset twice already trying, destruction staff, 1 hander, bow, i'm not really finding anything that feels right to me as a 2nd weapon, you give me confidence that problem isn't going away

So right now i have both bars with restoration staff, one is a little more tank focused and the other is a bit of dps focused.

I really just can't find a 2nd weapon that i like with my magicka heavy siphon/shadow focused build.

I'm actually trying out 1h/shield as my 2nd weapon set right now and so far after a few hours of VR1 questing it's coming out on top. I quest with 5 medium 2 light, all jewelry is magicka regen and +magicka. I have 41 stat points in magicka and this is important for making sure our class skills hit hard enough.

Here's my bar setup right now, I'll update when I decide if I'm keeping it or trashing it.

I'm only level 25 so I've only healed the first 6 dungeons but I have had zero problems.

I go with dual resto staff when healing. I use the first 4 staff abilites ( 2 heals, 1 buff, 1 sheild ). Then I have the undaunted blood healing alter thingy.. anyway the 1st undaunted skill. Makes a good aoe that anyone who needs it can activate the synergy to get more.

For class skills I use funnel health for damage + HOT, syphoning ultimate for the healing synergy. Sometimes I keep an assassin finisher for when the bosses are low to help burn them down. Last but not least shadow cloak for when you have agro and need to get the hell out of the way.

The NB healer of Blood Mage / Witch Doctor as I like to call mine is rad! I won't go any other way.

I'm sure upper level content fill face further challenges but I'm sure I'll be up to it.

I don't think healing really changes much, it may even get a little easier as tanks get tougher. It's the killing things while questing that makes a big difference, I went back to Cyrodiil and killed a few mobs and wow, pre-VR was way easier. On the bright side it really makes the questing fun enough to do.
