ESO Lore

I've played ESO for years, but I've dont a deep dive into Dark Souls this past year and got really into the lore. ESO lore seems like it could be pretty awesome too, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good content creator to check out? Or maybe a subject to get started on? Or even let me know if the lore is good enough to get into?

The UESP is a good starting point ... and yes, the lore is pretty extensive in the Elder Scrolls universe.

You can also check out the sub-forum dedicated to Lore (here in the forums) for the latest discussion topics

Interesting. I'm wondering if they have a "Lore Master" at Bethesda or Zenimax? All this needs to be coordinated I guess? Or not? o:)

I recommend using https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page over teswiki. Teswiki tends to delve into unofficial lore.

I think they USED to have a Lore Master; but, I think he QUIT. I know that they had a big “goodbye” for him. Old dude. Seemed kinda cool 😎.

Yes, they have a 'Lore Master'. His name is @ZOS_LeamonTuttle . He was passed the torch from Sir Lawrence Shick, the old one, who left for a better opportunity.
    Huzzah!

Just a FYI about the "old dude", Lawrence Shick.
He was not just "cool", he worked with Gygax on the original D&D and wrote modules for TSR in the early days!

You'd better start with playing TES games first, if you hadn't done it 26 years ago. TES I&II are really old ones, you can skip them without any formidable lore knowledge loss - the most part of the modern lore started with TES III: Morrowind - this is the game I recommend you to start if you somehow missed it too 18 years ago. Without playing those games you won't feel or understand the lore properly, you'll just know it, possess the information but nothing more.

There is the other side also, of course, like, the attitude of some people towards the Orcs. It is lore-wise some tamrielics consider the Orcs to be a Beastfolk, a Goblin-ken, suitable for slavery only, figuratively saying, not people at all. Just knowing it will not give you any feeling or understanding of this information. But, if TES I&II were your first TES games to play, you can understand that lore feature: the Orcs were an unplayable race until Morrowind, they were mobs and NPCs only similar to goblins. Imagine those goblins become a playable race - what attitude do you predict to be formed towards them?.. This is why some people may still consider the Orcs to be the pig children even today, after all this huge layer of lore has been written to support them as a sentient playable race. TES III was suprisingly the first game to show them not only as sentient people, but also good soldiers and even high-grade engineers! Well, this is just an example. Better play TES yourself and form your own experience first - youtube lore bloggers are only good to fill in some lore gaps if you've missed some details, but not that good to start that great journey from the beginning.

These are my favorite, very high production value and the love of the series shines through. Very sad he didn't become a ESO content creators but he didn't love the mmo take on it.
