Ive done it for a bit. Low level it is a quick easy way to make money. With the level 7ish open dungeon right by daggerfall 30 mins was a full inventory And 1-2k in gold. And then all the potions and soulgems an army of alts could use.

But i can certainly see why it would get annoying. My gf and i Havent had problems getting loot or tagging any bosses yet, but what should be the hardest fight in the dungeon always ends up spam your hardest hitting instant for 2-5seconds.

Being addressed through a loot timer, by the recent announcement.

Yep, it's going to be fixed it seems. The announcement below:

"Public Dungeon & Delve Boss Monsters – Also based on feedback, we will be placing a timer on how often you can get loot from public dungeon and delve boss monsters. This timer is shared across all boss monsters in public dungeons and delves. This will not impact loot timers for quest-specific monsters or overworld group bosses. Watch the patch notes for news on when this change will go live."

It's a good thing that the devs are listening to the feedback :)

It appears to be mostly bots. It's not as bad as it was in GW2 but the number of bots has been growing daily.

Bot? As in an automatic computer program controlling a character? How can that occur?
Stands at spawn point spamming an attack so they get a hit in and can loot.

It's a human controlling it though, isn't it? Or are there add ons that can do this? (I don't want one, just curious)

Just for clarity, an addon is not a bot. Bots are software programs that run scripts to automate tasks for you. Addons provide information, but don't perform tasks for you. Technically, a programmable mouse or keyboard that spams an attack for you 50 times if you press a button can be considered a form of botting because the player isn't instigating all of the character's actions and can step away from the keyboard and still have the character performing actions.

That said, and to the larger point, in public dungeons, if you don't do enough damage to the boss, you will not get credit and definitely will not be able to loot. I had to start using instant AOE attacks to try and score enough "participation" in order to get credit.

Really they need to make the blue items BoP with a resale value of 0g to stop the abuse as well as sadly getting rid of the soul shards, potion drops and other random drops so there is no reason for people to camp the spawns.

One of the main reasons I would choose to farm a boss like these is so I could get blues enough to deconstruct in order to have upgrade mats and/or so I could get soul shards. That said, the only real change they need to make is to have the boss-dropped blues be uniques. They all have descriptions on them anyway that say where they came from. Unique, one per character. Then folks who want to trade or sell, can. You can't decon the gear in the dungeon, so then you're left with whites and such and the one blue. However, to be honest, the best xp and looting is from xp group chaining. You can get 20-30 blues in an hour, plus 80k-100k+ xp in the same amount of time. Just bring an AOE with you and you're set. Until they actually manage that, I don't see an issue with farming the end boss of a public dungeon.

Have to say I really like the open dungeons, as its about as close as we are gunna get at this time to the delves in Skyrim, and at times its nice to have backup with other characters in there. However, I too believe that these open dungeons should be pumped up. You might say but what if I'm going in alone and the dungeon mobs are too powerful? Well, Ive been in loads of dungeons and have never, I repeat never been on my own.
Personally I think open dungeons should have mobs of at least 3-5 levels above the local area/zone. And with the boss killing rinse and repeat issue, simply make it impossible to loot more than once, or like the outside skull and crossbones events, make looting automatic on first kill and then reduce the probability down to 5%. That would put the bots off.
