Cyrodill - Do Scrolls reset

Riddle me this.

Some days map can be painted, no change overnight but you login and all 4 enemy scrolls are back in their temples. No overnight activity.

Other says 2 are back not others, or none.

No score changes to suggest map was flicked back and forth etc.

I'm sure I asked this before but can't find the thread. What gives. Anyone know?

When a campaign ends yes. Are you saying like during an active campaign?

No to both of the above posts. Scrolls dont reset randomly and they don’t reset when the campaign ends either.

There was a time in the second half of 2014 when they would reset following a server-wide crash and rollback. There were several reports of the same thing happening on consoles for months after launch. Those events came to be known as “scrollbacks”, a server rollback that restored default scroll placement.

Outside of those events no, a scroll will not go back to its temple unless someone runs it back.

Thanks @Reverb thats what I thought. But a year or so back I saw similar stuff (in Sotha) and not in Ravenwatch seeing the same. Map painted Red, all held, come the morning nothings changed, no increases in scores etc yet scrolls are back. I'd say folks up to stuff, but you cant pickup a placed scroll can you? as in own alliance running it out. I know folks do nefarious stuff with scrolls but thats from enemy temples.

it honestly feels like some kind of reset. Its quiet overnight, and I cant beleive someone could be bothered to go to the trouble to literally just get the scrolls back and not bother flipping map or gaining AP

Just curious if anyone else feels similar

PS - i'm the first to say nefarious stuff goes on, especially now Ravenwatch has no lock

however this doesnt feel like that - it feels like a reset.

I hear you guys, but honnestly on the quieter camps it's Def a thing.

Maps one colour, no score changes. Check back in am and scrolls back, maps the same colour.

Unless someone is over night bothering to schlep across the map, flip a keep to grab the scroll and schlep it back then by AM it's flipped back by folks not on the scoreboard just seems a stretch.

Folks don't bother with scrolls even when the maps painted!!

Is wear there's a reset.

The scrolls definitely do still reset after some server crashes. I’ve seen this happen 2 or 3 times this year already. (PC NA)

Unless you are checking back within an hour though, something else is going on, because even with the scrolls reset you should have seen score changes for the faction holding the map for the Keeps/resources they have and their own scrolls. And the other two factions should get some points increase due to now having their own scrolls too.
